I think Samsung lost their focus as can be seem in their last few launches, the phone launch has very minimal increment.
Whereas Huawei, they are very competitive, new entrants to the market uses lower price approach and new innovative features. That’s why they can be seen getting more successful.
It's typical of any business organization to focus on what subsidiary units are making profits and what are not. SAMSUNG and SONY are doing likewise. Handphones were once cash cows but because of competition and other means to make more profits the focus has shifted.
The outlook of a phone has not changed much over the years. It's still a slate type design. Even if foldable design will to be out the profits in phone is still not there.
To survive companies must focus on core businesses which make more profits
and while pressuring Samsung to make better higher quality high end phones.I hope Huawei's presence will pressure Samsung into producing better low-end phone.
