Why was Hoolala banned?

He posted a thread about Singapore topping the autism charts. He was clearly being critical of Singapore. The thread was quietly removed.

Yet the reason offered on that post was Harassment / Cyberbullying. Can moderators explain?

There is an even bigger and longer running thread that is FULL of Harassment and Cyberbullybg and yet moderators have not done anything with it.

And please do not talk to me about autism, I think I am qualified to talk about it since I have first hand experience with it. Not all are the same, this is for sure.

The thread title was regarded as inappropriate and can be perceived as mocking persons with autism and Singaporeans

Other forum community members have also highlighted how low it was as a response in the thread and also made reports to us. Considering these factors, we have removed the post.

You may have differing opinions about the matter. That’s fine, we welcome them. However, you do also have to note that not everyone sees eye to eye with you as well.

For a start, can you unblock my posts on this thread because there is nothing that is restricted to those under 18?

Or is this block function meant to censor and have nothing to do with restricting content for those under 18?

I have already explained that the title is directed at Singapore and does not mock anyone with autism. Since you think it does, can you explain how? In fact, the language only suggests that TS is showing disdain at the high rate of people with autism in Singapore.

And your supporting reason is strange, because there are many others in the thread who do not see anything wrong and ask why. You only consider one side and not the other? Before the thread was removed, I asked those who said the same as you to explain, but there was nothing forthcoming from them, just like there is nothing forthcoming from 2/2 moderators. Nobody can explain how it can be deemed as harassment or cyberbullying.

For the moderators, you have also totally ignored my comment about the other thread that is so full of harassment and cyberbullying, and did nothing about it.

It is pointless telling us if you have a different opinion and not explain why. At work, people get sacked for doing this.

We note your differing opinion. However as my fellow moderator has shared earlier, you are not the thread starter who was banned and your explanation does not represent the views of the community or the intent of the thread starter.

In fact as I have listed in my reply above, we have received feedback and reports from our forum community members who called out on its inappropriateness.

For the moderators, you have also totally ignored my comment about the other thread that is so full of harassment and cyberbullying, and did nothing about it.

We have noted this and will take appropriate action.
