Because of the price difference, I will say just go with ZTE BE7200 Pro+.

I have the ZTE myself and its wireless coverage is quite OK.

But if you really need all the LAN ports of Ruijie BE72 Pro, go with it. Be careful of the shop selling though as I do not see Ruijie's own Taobao/Tmall Flagship store selling it, only some unknown shops.

High end consumer WiFi 7 routers shootout -- both 5GHz and 6GHz test, using OnePlus 11 5G WiFi 7 mobile phone, and a PC with Asus PCE-BE92BT WiFi 7 adapter (Intel BE200 chipset, only compatible with Intel 13th gen CPU or later now).

You can see the benefits of WiFi 7 routers in the 6GHz band, due to 320MHz channel width and 4096QAM.

Asus ROG GT-BE98 Pro (not available in Singapore but ROG GT-BE98 is available in Singapore) -- best overall
TP-Link Archer BE900 -- second best
Netgear Nighthawk RS700S
eero Max 7 (available from VQ)
Linksys Velop Pro 7 -- best value (only 2.5G ports).

Noob mistake i made but fortunately didn’t buy BE88U yet since not sold in Singapore. Initially thought i’d get two BE88U (AImesh) when i upgrade to 10gbps. Cheaper and i don’t have many wireless devices so dual band suffices.

Then I read the fine print. Yes dual 10 gbps port but only one is LAN the other is SFP+. Big issue for me cos my AImesh setup has always been wired backhaul for speed & stability. In short since there’s only one 10gbps LAN port i can’t use wired backhaul for AIMesh so this router doesn’t suit my needs.

Random rant but advice to fellow noobs is read properly. 😅 Will probably end up getting two BE-96 or MR’s bundled BE-98 & buy one BE-96 since both models legit have two 10 gbps LAN ports.

RT-BE88U is fine, it is not expensive to get two SFP+ Copper (10GBase-T) modules to link the two RT-BE88U using Ethernet cable. The modules tend to be hot though. Some people may prefer to use SFP+ Optic module and then use Fibre to connect them together for AImesh Ethernet backhaul.

But anyway, nothing wrong to go with the more expensive ROG GT-BE25000 (from MR) or RT-BE96U.

Not so sure if you see TP-Link Archer BE230 or Deco BE25.

1. TP-Link Archer BE230 is issued by M1 now as the free router bundled with the 2.5Gbps plan.

But it is a dual band low end BE3600 router without 6GHz band, just like those China WiFi 7 routers.

Comparison of the TP-Link Singapore Archer WiFi 7 routers -- all big except Archer BE230.

2. TP-Link also has the Deco BE25 which is again a low end dual band WiFi 7 router rated BE5000, without 6GHz band, it is quite small compared to the bigger brothers.

Wondering if anyone tried to use the TP-Link TL-7DR5160 with EasyMesh? I am looking for cheap mesh point to join my EB810v network otherwise have to go for the Archer BE230.

I tend to think TP-Link China models 易展 may not work well with TP-Link Global version of EasyMesh in terms of EasyMesh management features (adding and managing the mesh node from GUI, replicate the wireless settings to the mesh node, etc).

On the other hand, you may not care about the EasyMesh management feature at all. EB810v itself may have problems already even if you use TP-Link BE230 or TP-Link Archer AX72 as the mesh node.

Just set up the other router in AP mode with the same SSID and password as the main router and the roaming performance may already be okay as long as the main router and mesh nodes both support 802.11 k/v.

Take note TP-Link EasyMesh is anyway based on 802.11 k/v.

For those using SingTel Fibre Broadband, HB810 is available as an add-on purchase at S$16.8 per month x 24 months = S$403.2, if you need WiFi 7 router.

Some reports say it has the same HW as the TP-Link Deco BE85 (need confirmation) but with custom FW by the ISP.

Not recommended for the users of other ISPs as the FW updates are reported to be locked to SingTel network.

Good price for TP-Link Archer BE230, but not because of the "WiFi 7" but rather because of dual 2.5G ports.

It is not a true WiFi 7 router as it does not support 6GHz band, just treat it as a low end WiFi 6 router with dual 2.5G ports.

This is now a good option for SIMBA 2.5Gbps and VQ/MR 3Gbps plan as well if people do not want to spend a lot on router.

but isn't this a local router with 6GHz band also?
