@HiHelloBye You're interested in this model is it? Haha
Can't share much yet, so will slowly show more over the next month
not bad… quite a clean UI👍🏼
definitely better than Aginet lol

i'm so used to ASUS Web GUI, contemplating whether to switch from ASUS to TP-Link:spin:

Do you know if this newer and cleaner web management page will also eventually trickle down to the older Wi-Fi 7 models like TP-Link Archer BE805?
Nice right! At the moment no news yet, seems to be the UI going forward for Wi-Fi 8 series.
I'm loving this new cleaning web UI page/skin. Very happy with the performance, asthetic/design and ease of use of both the Tether APP & Web UI of the BN800. Seems to hit a homerun with this product, their products are looking, I'll also be using the Deco 8 Ultra when it comes ~

ASUS WEB UI, after they revamped it, I totally lost any interest in it, I feel is a bit messy.
I think you won't regret with their Archer 8 Ultra ~
I powered off my U7 Pro XG liao. Full-time using and testing the 8 Ultra for my home now.

I will be interested if the price is reasonable. :ROFLMAO:

Between Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra, I tend to like Deco better...

My budget for a 10Gbps capable triband Wi-Fi router is only at S$400 now. I may raise the budget to S$500 as well. I guess I have to wait until late 2027 or 2028. I think the price will go down to S$400 or lower level at that time when the ISPs start to bundle 10Gbps capable Wi-Fi 8 routers.

BTW, I have just raised my Android phone budget from S$400 to S%500 this year. I bought Poco X8 Pro Max at slightly below S$500.

Too big liao .... the design, honestly not a fan .... prefer minimalistic design ~

I don't mind a big-size design (I own a server rack load of it! :ROFLMAO: ) if there are more pro features.

But I do mind the spider designs.

I will feedback the pricing concern to TP-Link SG Team, see if can work out something ~

How much pricing is considered reasonable?
just curious hehe

Btw Should I create a dedicated thread for This BN800 and the 8 Ultra Deco instead?

Just go ahead with a new thread for TP-Link Wi-Fi 8 routers (Archer and Deco).

Initial pricing will be high and the buyers are the early adopters, price around S$700 should be considered as reasonable for Archer 8 Ultra., even though it is out of my budget.

Just like the initial pricing for Archer BE800 and Deco BE85 in late 2023 (early adopters).
TP-Link Archer BE800 triband WiFi 7 BE19000, S$799
TP-Link Deco BE85 (2 PACK) is already $1199 (RRP: $1499) at challenger website and shopee.

Even now the price at Shopee is not low.
TP-Link Archer BE800 --> S$600+ listed, offer pricing may be a bit lower.
Deco BE85 two-pack --> S$1000+ listed, offer pricing may be a bit lower.

But then there are lower price TP-Link 10Gbps capable Wi-Fi 7 consumer models like Archer BE805. And TP-Link service provider models like EB810V, EB832 and HB810.

MR has a very detailed Wi-Fi 8 Page.
https://myrepublic.net/sg/blog/broadband/wi-fi-8-is-coming-is-your-home-network-ready/

Let's see if MR will be the first ISP to bundle Asus ROG GT-BN98 (BN25000) or TP-Link Archer 8 Ultra (BN19000)
Both comes with 2x 10Gbps WAN/LAN ports. Hoping that 2 years from now they release routers with more than 2x 10Gbps ports. Don't care whether can use the bandwidth or not, but it is nice to know that when speedtest it can reach close to 10Gbps since no choice have to subscribe to 10gbps plans as the telcos likely wouldn't offer cheaper / lower bandwidth plans by then.

More recent technology overview of Wi-Fi 8 standard.

Basically the draft standard has reached the level of maturity for the vendors to come out with Wi-Fi 8 routers that will work with the official standard to be released in 2028 through firmware updates (no hardware change required).

TP-Link Lab testing results sharing. You can see that they are not showing off the top speed in the video.

In this video, the TP-Link team walks through real-world performance benchmarks — demonstrating measurable gains in throughput, efficiency, and interference resistance across New MCS, UEQM, and Co-SR technology.

Qualcomm 4*4 Wi-Fi 7 and 8 are a big thing if you are chasing for top speed.

The following video shows above 9Gbps Wi-fi speed.

Watch this Wi‑Fi 8 speed test from Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, showing peak performance in action.

The video features a Qualcomm Dragonwing Wi‑Fi 8‑powered router paired with FastConnect 8800, highlighting the performance potential as next‑generation infrastructure and devices come together.

In this video, we break down Wi‑Fi 8 capabilities and resiliency, including:
•Improved throughput enabled by Qualcomm FastConnect 8800, the world’s first 4×4 Wi‑Fi 8 mobile connectivity system
•A Qualcomm Dragonwing Networking 5×5 radio architecture engineered to extend the reach of high‑speed connectivity
•Wi‑Fi 8 ultra‑high reliability designed to perform reliably even in challenging environments

For the Wi-Fi 7 era, Qualcomm seems to secure the most design wins for the high end Wi-Fi 7 routers from the very beginning. Broadcom mainly retains Asus as a big customer. MediaTek has limited success with Filogic 880 chipset. Realtek is a late comer with some success in China, mainly on the low end.

Broadcom takes the lead this time. Asus is of course using Broadcom solution for ROG GT-BN98 and GT-BN98 Pro. It is interesting that TP-Link is also using Broadcom solution for Archer 8 Ultra (Archer BN800).

Let's see if Qualcomm and MediaTek will catch up.

1. On the PC client side, Intel is of course the king for Wi-Fi 7 with Intel BE200/BE201/BE202 chipsets (along with modules including Killer branded modules).

Qualcomm Fastconnect 7800 based solution like QCNCM865 and MediaTek MT7927/MT7925 are also the leading solution in the WiFi 7 client market.

Realtek has some solutions on the lower end and it seems to be successful for the USB Wi-Fi 7 adapter market.

Apple N1 is the first entry from Apple.

2. Let's see what will happen on the WiFi 8 client market.

Intel will still be the king.

MediaTek may gain market share with AMD platforms.

Qualcomm may also gain a bit of market share if they gain traction with 4*4 Wi-Fi 7/8 support of the Fastconnect 8800 chipset.
