Going to Sungei Gedong for ICT in August, every year after ICT phone bill skyrocketed bcos my data limit overshoot without fail damn sian.

Will a Portable Wifi Router + Tourist Sim Card help provide wifi access during ICT? Been talking to my buddies about pulling the money together to buy them so the bunk can share the wifi.

If yes, got any recommendation on the router? SIM card wise M1 have the Tourist Prepaid 100GB local data for 2 weeks @ $50, is that the correct card?

Tourist Prepaid is for foreign passport, upon registration+activation maybe available at airport terminals only.
As for 100GB local data for 10-day from the date of registration/activation.

There are other options.

Should be in Mobile Communication Technology section

What other options do you speak of?

Heard before M1 is still the best in Gedong camp, at least as of early this year.

Check with your buddies anyone on Circles base plan ($28) or higher plan. Can ask them for help and buy the $3 unlimited data plan everyday to share.

Over 2 weeks cost up to $42, but in reality some days may not need, reducing the cost even further.

Note that Circles will throttle after 100GB of usage per bill period (including their base and/or 20GB add-on).

Locals can get it too, and it's subjected to cap of 3 cards per NRIC / passport (locals). M1 Shop should have those tourist cards too, I think I read it on M1 website.

Thank you all for the suggestions, so it's either M1 and Circle life then.

So they will only activate from the day I purchase the Sims or I activate them when I pin the code for the Sims?

I have the same problem here when going for reservist too, always burst my data plan, especially when it's low key, been looking around for options, been hearing good reviews on circles life. Might give it a try.

Here's what i've found out after doing some research on Circles life :

1. Get a mobile plan from them on their online shop using your facebook account or google account. Go for the $20 plan which provides you with 20GB.

2. Download the mobile app CirclesCare & you can activate the $3 per day unlimited data from there, it's good till midnight 12am.

3. If needed, you can get a portable wifi router from challenger or sorts which will cost you around 50 bucks so you could share the wifi with your bunk mates.

I haven't tried it before, i hope it's hassle free & not too tedious to activate it haha.

Err $20-for-20GB is only valid as an add-on for the base plan ($28/mth). Not as a standalone plan in itself.

Tourist prepaid is next best after circlelife unlimited $3 daily.

Can buy M1 7days for $12. If 1 week not enough just buy 2 cards.

Do be aware that Prepaid are activated once purchased/registered.

Unless you can self activate the Prepaid before use if they allow.
Or get the 2nd Prepaid when needed.
Or get a longer Tourist prepaid instead.

BTW is anyone using this TPG 30 days 50GB data for only $10 mobile plan during reservist?

https://www.tpgmobile.sg/?gclid=Cjw...ezwx6OdtgMJ5yBsMzHyjNmRevMjltf_hoCUaEQAvD_BwE

I am going back for reservist from late oct to mid nov and I am thinking of getting some temporary mobile data plan as I have only 2GB of data for my current mobile plan and everytime I go back to reservist for sure my data usage will shot up as I am required to stay in and can only book out on Friday evenings for my ICT.

TPG network coverage isn't very good (e.g no signal in MRT tunnels).

I would suggest you to consider Giga. They are currently having a Pop-Up Plan Offer until 30th Sept for 40GB at $18 per month. It's a no contract plan. The previous month's data can be rolled over to the next month if you didn't finish it.

Giga uses Starhub network. Their website is www.giga.com.sg
