Seldom heard of friends using onboard wifi Bluetooth. Is it poor in reception. Or just not popular
I find they always run into driver issues.Still prefer USB wifi. Portability.
Likewise, contemplating whether to go with a Z97 board with wireless-AC or a H97 board with PCIe wireless-AC adapter.
Onboard solution reduces clutter while being marginally expensive compared to PCIe solution.
Yet PCIe solution like Asus's PCE-AC68 offers greater speed with gigabit(s) internet with its 1.3Gbps data rate and to a limited extent, portability.
Yes. But between an onboard solution with theoretical speed of up to 867Mbps and a PCE-AC68 with theoretical speed of up to 1.3Gbps, there should be a noticeable improvement when using a gigabit connection.WiFi's theoretical throughput is always far from real life speed, at least from that of Gigabit LAN.
