I am currently using 7850 gfx card with i5 3470, can anyone recommend a better tier gfx card that runs quiet for gaming? And will my i5 3470 bottleneck the performance? Thanks.

I'm using a GTX 770 with a 3470 and it doesn't bottleneck, 3470 is still a great processor so it shouldn't bottleneck newer cards.

I'm curious. Why do you think your cpu will bottleneck your gpu. Been hearing this alot hehe. Unless you're using some ancient celeron running at 1ghz. Then there'll be bottleneck.

Other than that. All is fine :s22:

No it will not bottleneck your card. Nowadays cpu seldom bottleneck the cards. Not unless you run 3 cards and using a mainstream cpu.

Else a single or dual card is fine.

Another new scenario is mantle support for amd cards. Even an i3 or an apu processor is able to make full use of the cards. But of cause. There must be games that will support mantle. Like bf4 and thief.

Current best bang for bucks will be the r9 280x. Same performance as the gtx770.

You don't have to worry about CPU bottlenecking. That's the least of your worries. I would worry about your PSU able to support whatever card you're upgrading to than the CPU.
