I intend to change my graphic card to GTX 960/970. I was wondering if there's a need for me to change my mobo and processor.

Your gpu pcie lanes is slower.. its either 16x or 8x and version 3 or 2. PCI express 2.0 at x16 compared to 3.0 x16 is noticeable.

Of course there will be some bottleneck. Get a skylake or haswell. i5 is good enuf.

Ignore the comments here.

Your processor is still very decent for GTX 970. No worries about that.

And PCIE 2.0 to 3.0 x16 has absolutely no difference in gaming performance. :)

Go ahead and upgrade away. :)

Yeah but not mine la. :s13:

Not sure how they can see noticeable difference for just few fps difference. They probably have speed cameras in their retina...

If you are playing rts, turn-based strategy or large online games, the newer i5 or i7 will improve your minimum fps.

Not much , I tried I3 2120 vs I5 4690 the diff is like only 3-5 fps , while gfx change from 560ti to 770 is 15 fps . the key is gfx

Like what he says. As your resolution goes up, the less dependent on your CPU.

A SSD helps the most.

Thanks for the advice guys. With regards to how a SSD will maximise a GTX960/970 the most, will my current ssd suffice?

I'm also leaning towards the GTX960 cause of the ongoing lazada promotion. My main intention is to stream Heroes of the Storm and VMware while running a dual monitor setup. (http://www.lazada.sg/asus-gtx960-4gb-ddr5-graphic-card-2380135.html?boost=1) Edit: **** I missed the offer.
