Gold have been going on a steep upwards trajectory for a long time now.

Do you think it'll keep going up or will it start to stabilize soon?

Today's gold price: USD117.13 (source: goldprice.org)

Anything goes up will come down. I believe it'll come down at some point of time but in long long run especially for ppl to own it to pass down generations, it'll be up and up. This my personal belief.

In the short term (next 6 months) my feel is we've not reached the top end cap, if the following assumptions really happen:

1. Fed lower rates next week (Sept 2025 FOMC meeting)
2. Escalation of war risk after Russian's incursion into Poland
3. EU agrees to Trump's latest demand for additional sanctions on Moscow plus secondary sanctions on countries buying Russian oil

Maybe another 5%?

Where got long time?
past 2years or so nia after a long 8-10years bear market lol

If u believe we are entering a global stagflation, then Gold could be one of the best asset moving forward

Do people usually buy physical gold and stash it at home?

One of my wife's friends does that.

What will be the toto winning numbers this week?

I guess if we can answer this, we can answer whether gold will go up or down.

Gold one day surely hit 10k
just like global index fund….long term 100years later surely higher than today

No need crystal ball but only a matter of time (5/10/20years) :s13: :s13:

that may be true if they keep continue printing money

cos 20 years later gold may hit 10k

but that the value of that 10k 20 years later is the same as the gold price now.

20y ago till today about 5x+

The whole World is printing more aggressively nowadays even during peace time.

My best guesstimate would be 30-35k 20years later.

True for most part if we consider real inflation over the past 20 years.

But gold does not really generate wealth compared to equities with paid dividends. At least for me it's more of a wealth preservation medium to guard against inflation, as well as to act as a hedge for my USD denominated investments.

With the recent surge however, I'm tempted to cash it in and put the cash in some companies that I've been eyeing.

Do your research, ask chatgpt.

the key driver to the current “gold rush” is NOT retail buyers (some on this and other gold threads or your (grand)parents buying gold bracelets/pendants from sookee, poh heng).

Its the Central Banks and state actors with near unlimited pockets - they are selling US dollar (thats why its weakening) and US treasuries/bond (pushing up yields) and transferring/converting/buying kilobars (billions upon billions worth).

Do these state actors and central banks still have cash left to buy gold (most certainly yes!), is there unlimited amount of gold to feed this demand? (scarcity is no longer theoretical here).

put another way - the current gold (and precious metal) trade is geopolitics being played out in the financial arena. Its a war but fought with money.

the above may sound conspiracy-theory-esque but please DYODD (ask chatgpt). Read up enough and the answer will be obvious.

Many do. There are some retail bullion companies doing brisk biz currently but i kenah ntuc points on another thread when i pointed this out.

hwz users only wish to pay premium prices for sense of security than to trust themselves to DYODD

Ask Chatgpt:

Bro, TOTO is pure gambling.
Gold got charts, got trends, got central banks hoarding.
Can’t predict 100%, but it’s not flipping coin either.

Do you think oil prices will go up or down? Do you think COE will go up or down?
Ask Chatgpt:

If oil and COE can’t predict, doesn’t mean gold is same.
Got fundamentals to study — not gambling.
Market got logic, just not always linear.

You are thinking about selling, not buying.

Last night, hit 3700 (spot price)!

I am also waiting to sell my holdings

Today's news, corruption, so much gold holdings, I heard even own a jewellery shop ("They then used the money to open a gold shop and buy a luxury car, according to a TikTok post by the MACC.") . Time to go out for my morning walk!
