Won't affect CPU but might affect your RAM OC settings stability.

Is your 8gb part of a kit or just another stick of ram?

Even so, chances are wont affect CPU oc stability. You might wanna run some prime blending to make sure everything is smooth though.

I dabble into ram overclocking (because i can) and unstable ram presents somewhat different to unstable CPU overclocks.

I notice, in prime blend, instead of bsods, I get core crashes. And games gets ctds. If your ram is really really unstable, you wont even POST; or you might get a CPU overclock failure notice on bootup.

Update:

Upgraded to 12 GB (8+4) 1600MHz from a Single 4GB 1333MHz
So far so good.. still no crashes as of now.
Hope it can last throughout the next two years at least..
