Win 10 CD key

Hi all,

im very confuse on this portion. I've seen many people recommending for new rig with the OS being bought from Taobao. Is it just the CD Key?

surely there must be some cons to it as compared to purchasing the original Win10 OS at $130 right?
Can someone who bought before PM me if sharing here is not exactly 'ok'?

If yours in licensed for old Win 7 or 8, can still upgrade for free.

Jus upgrade my kid’s old notebook so Win 10 last nite.

It's not say OK to buy, think it this way.
Why SLS or places sell $130 or so while online places sell $10.
Few factors:

- For sales of MS products, it have to be authorized
channels like retail shop or MS store.
- keys that they sell could be from schools/companies
with volume license.

If you want to buy $10 key nothing is stopping you but
where the key is obtained from is highly questionable.
Especially whether is it OEM or Volume license as the EULA
is different.

$130 is OEM thus EULA is tied to one PC non-transferable.
Than there is retail version which allows the license to be transfer
but much higher at $2XX+.

*FYI Windows license are much cheaper than back in times like Win XP/7
where OEM license cost around $2XX+ for home edition.

And the trick is if you dont mind the "windows not activated" pop up on desktop screen, can just download from MS and install as normal with no time limit to activate. Only thing is cannot customize the windows experience but free is free.

Just buy a legitimate Windows Key. Its the operating system after all and if you but it out right you can always migrate it to whatever PC you upgrade to in future. All this talk about cheapo $10 or $5 activations really does get under my skin.

Actually, I'm glad the threadstarter brought this up. I've also been wondering about this. After reading the comments by some of the bros here, I think it's best to get a legitimate key.
