Win 8.1 PC says No driver for printer.

This happened a few weeks ago.
Need to print something.....n end up need to spend hours coz dig back old Win XP system from storeroom.
Ok....i installed this laser printer oki b2200 to my pc during April...
Pc was on win 8.1....works well n things go smoothly.
After that never print.....until....Aug....
It says No driver installed....
I tried reboot pc, printer, change usb port,....reinstall driver....still cannot.
I suspect the Windows Update mess up the show.
I hardly install anything since April n dun play games.....
Despo....I dig out the old pc running win xp from my storeroom....
N get to print out. This old pc i never do any windows update.
And it was connected to work w the oki laser printer.

You have 2x Choices.
1) Buy a new Printer
2) Install VMware Player and Install WindowXP on it

The windows 8 drivers should work on Windows 8.1

Thanks Magix.

It works initially....but it doesnt work now.

The printer status shows "Driver is unavailable"....even though after install drivers.

Did you experienced a failed print job prior to this problem?

If yes, cancelled or delete all pending print jobs then go to services.msc to restart the print spooler service.

Encountered something similar but on Windows10, printer well offline and faded, the above steps fixed the problem.

When connected via usb n Power on....the printer icon is not grayed out....it will show device setup in progress....driver is unavailable.
Tried the services.msc method...but cant solve.
Still the same.
