Hi, just want to alert people out there to be wary of "win iphone or ipad" competitions online, especially if they ask you to key in your mobile number for a chance at winning.
They usually use very big font to highlight this lucky draw, and invite you to submit your number.
However, please be alert and read all the terms and conditions on the web page, which will be in fine print riiiiight at the bottom.
If you forget to scroll all the way down, you will miss it. Once you key in your number, they will charge $25 before gst. It cannot be refunded. And then they will send you smses for which they will charge you $5.35 too. They will send at least 5 messages a week. So you might get 20 messages a month and have to pay $107 a month.
I find their website very misleading, but it was still my fault for missing out the small sentences at the bottom of the page.
One of the culprit companies is Mobile Broomstick, owned by ATLC Pte Ltd.
However, if you don't mind paying $5.35 each time for their smses, you can still go ahead, in order to have a chance of winning the ipad/iphone. I just hope the lucky draw really exists.
I came across this website when I was searching for ways to earn extra income online, but I ended up $25 poorer instead, which was 1 week's lunch money for me.
