Our flat was warm even before we shifted in
Decided to do solar film and flat is cool so far (but can't rule out due to the cooling season)

3M brand is expensive ,not sure are they good though

I self installed those cheap ones from China. Works very well so far on West facing side. Easy to install also.

After 2 years, I can safely say there's a significant drop in temperature generally.

yes sticker films.

No air bubbles so far. But it really depends on how you install it.
I followed the instructions on the taobao sales page, and it is near perfect. Near perfect because the edges are not as well cut, but it's cheap and it works.

if you drive, just go to any tinted shops in JB.

give them the dimensions and cut to your window sizes.
its better as compared to the ones from China.

my JB tint lasted me for 7-8 years
using china one, still ok but dont block heat as good as JB tint.

1. Generally, installing window solar films are a cost effective way to reduce heat in your home while also lowering energy bills on cooling and also potentially lighting.
2. There are quite a few options for solar film on the market and it will depend on what you want but most companies doing solar film installation offer free site visits. I encourage you to see the solar films in person first to make a better decision no matter what you decide on.

Nope, never tried removing.

I installed on a west facing panel that's 2.1m by 0.75m. Don't want to remove while it is still working well hahah
I worry if the film will leave any residue after being removed

By right it shouldn't. It feels like handphone screen protectors.

Any residue should be able to remove easily with water or basic cleaning agents.
