Hey guys,

Just want to check, what are the ways to get a legal copy of Windows 10 OS, other than through buying at SLS and Microsoft website? Pretty expensive

Building a new rig, but stuck at OS step.

I've seen the reddit thread, but not sure if legit. Some sellers on qoo10 got shutdown as well for selling counterfeit keys (based on microsoft sg facebook)

Looking for a cheaper Windows 10 OEM version. Don't mind going via the upgrade route from Win 7/8, but if price is roughly similar, might as well get win 10 straight away.

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

This is not those questionable keys from those reddit or digi something.

i bought my online copy from US Microsoft website. It is cheaper compare to buying it from SG Microsoft website. So far i have installed and activated it without any problems. I even bought Office during their black friday sale last year.

You bought Windows 10 at $119usd from US Microsoft store? About $60 cheaper at $162sgd. If I had to get OEM dvd from SLS for around $150, I would rather pay $10 more for a retail license.

For Customer Info, did you used your US forwarder as billing address and pay by Paypal with SG address or US address also? Confirm can activate Windows 10 in Singapore? Thanks

Don't need to hurry to buy Win10... if you have existing licensed Win7/8.1, just go for the free upgrade...
IF not, when the free upgrade is over on 29 July, Microsoft would probably run some FINAL push promo like the previous Win8.1 @$18 for a month or 2 since they're trying so hard to get people upgrade to Win10 :D

Wait till Microsoft is desperate. It may even offer to pay you to use Windows 10. :D

I bought the pro version at USD$199 and chose the download option. Paid using PayPal but forgot whether I used a US or Singapore address. Got it somewhere in March and so far so good.

I had downloaded and created a USB installation media using the upgraded apps in windows 7. Can I use it to install Wondows 10 on new build PC. As for the key if I were to buy from MS is it consider box version or OEM?

You can use the USB to install Windows 10 on a new PC but it will prompt you for a valid CD key.
