Windows 10 Pro wireless signal strength

Hi guys...have an issue with Windows 10 Pro and the wireless signal strength displayed.


Recently found that the wireless signal strength displayed in network and sharing centre is always max 4 bars. This despite the notebook been just 1 meter away from my wireless router. Even using a USB dongle is the same.


I thought was my old laptop or even Windows 10 Pro issue. So recently setup a new laptop with Windows 10 Pro and with AC 8260 intel card. And still the same. For old and new laptop, I let Windows install the drivers automatically. Never used the laptop drivers. Is this the issue? If not, any solution?

well mine is a old lappy but same win10 pro and max signal also 4 bars. but so long it didnt affect your work (with web base) and your data entry to server its fine.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that it does not affect the usage for wifi.


But my course of work requires me to check wifi signal strength at times.


So no known solution for this?


Strangely, I have also setup a new Asus Zenbook 3 (fresh reinstall Win 10 home then upgrade to Win 10 by entering the Win 10 Pro product key). This Asus shoes full signal strength instead.

lol mine already reinstalled 3 times due to system file error, but signal still the same so no problem with that.
