Windows 10 reinstall using usb

I created a bootable usb installation drive using rufus
but the usb show up as uefi hard disk at boot device selection.
I installed windows 10 to a new ssd.
After reboot, I can't boot up from the ssd. No bootable device found.
The installation installed win boot manager in the usb drive. Need to boot from the usb.
Why is the usb recognise as usb hdd and not usb key?
How to install from usb drive?

Why not just create installation media using the default MS tools? I do that when I install Windows on a new PC

Just use the Media Creation Tool at https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 and have your USB flash drive connected when running to tool to create installation media for other PC.

Install using DVD liao. Later try to create usb bootable drive.

U should have created the Windows USB using Windows' own Media Creation Tool, not Rufus.

Moi thought the iso from media creation for problems. During installing , there's errors, says missing files. So download iso from Microsoft using chrome developer mode and check hash number.

it's the user problem.

when u install using UEFI, make sure your boot is on UEFI and not on legacy.

1st if you create the bootable usb using rufus in GPT or MBR mode. Then you also need to set the bios on your Desktop or Laptop to the same mode.
And old set does not allow uefi.

As recommended by others, please use USB using Windows official media tool. It is official, installs like 3 times faster, and doesn't create plastic dvd waste

No idea what TS is doing.
Got atas efficient official media creation tool go use Simi Rufus.

Personally I use legacy boot instead of kns uefi.
