Windows 11 upgrade for older PCs

For those who built their PC around 5 years ago or so, did you all enable TPM 2.0 in BIOS for W11 upgrade? Or just enroll in the extended security update first?

don't think so. my PC at least is not eligible to upgrade and device health check thing says TPM 2.0 is a requirement

Can you remove the requirement using rufus and clean install.

Try not to do inplace upgrade.

Note that this is a "by left" method, so long term effect is unknown.

then download windows 11 iso, open and run setup.exe.

Just use this. Create your own minimum bloat Windows 11 ISO and install away. All taken care of. Not sure how to do it, just follow Chris Titus' tutorial video below. His GitHub repo is the "GO-TO" for the minimum crap version of Windows Install Utility. No need by left or by right.

You know what is another better way? Switch away from Windows and onboard Linux! ​

Also you can use Flybyoobe to install Win11 without hardware requirements.
Works well and you have the option to upgrade (so can keep all the installed data and software) which makes it easy without clean install.

If PC is older than Intel 8th gen or AMD Ryzen 3000 series.
Just extend the Windows security feature I already done so for
some of my PCs.

I don't like Windows 11 it can lag quite badly especially on older hardware.
Mainly due to it's security features.

For those unsupported and more than 5 years old, can switch to IoT LTSC version.

• Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 (21H2): Supported until January 12, 2027
• Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (21H2): Supported until January 13, 2032

2. Log into onedrive
https://onedrive,live,con
using MS account id and password
Just put some scenic pictures(no faces if you are concern with privacy) into your onedrive.

I managed to enroll in Extended Security Updates with the above with signing into my PC onedrive. Then again I think I am already sign in because I click on my PC onedrive app and I can see all my items on onedrive.
Go Check Updates and do all the updates and see if the enroll button is there.

If still cannot then you have so click on the onedrive icon in your taskbar and sign in using your Microsoft account. You should be able to enroll now.

I confirm that I am not logon to my onedrive on PC. I drop a junk picture into my onedrive folder in my PC. I logon to my onedrive.live.com and the junk picture is not there i.e. I don't sync to my online onedrive. I can only know 60 days later if I am still enroll to ESU since I am using a local account. I don't put important files in onedrive and treat it like dropbox.

Hi, what i did was do a fresh installation of OS(Window 11).
Remember to backup all your files before anything.
This was recommended by IT technician.


1) Go to this link : Download Windows 11

2) Look for” Create Windows 11 installation media “ Click “ Download Now “ . It is an .exe file.

3) Download it to your Desktop

4) Execute the file

5) Standby an empty thumb drive

6) Follow instructions to download win11 into thumb drive

After that, u have the latest Win11 in your thumb drive.

As for Window activation, mine is tag to my Windows account. So once login the Windows is activated.

but if ur pc really old old then please upgrade to something newer no need to be latest

So far i tried 23h2 still the best , 24 and latest 25h2 are crap
