Discounts range from 10-15%, nothing too spectacular.
I think that with the popularity of sales and outlet shopping amongst Singaporeans, the trend these days is for retailers to locate some cheap rent, out of the way premise as an outlet, and hoping that bargain hunters going all the way there will probably pick up something, assuming it is heavily discounted.
Rant aside, not many German rieslings left. Max F Richter almost all gone. Left a few Spatlese and Auslese Schloss Schonborn bottlings at 40+.
For Brunello lovers, there's Fanti and La Poderina, going at about roughly 80 bucks (2006) and 40 (2008 or later) for the Rossos.
Some Jean Luc Colombo - famous Cornas producer - CdPs available too. Again, discounts not fantastic IMO.
Over at the other premise, just outside Giant, there are a few old Bordeaux eg. 1999, 2002, available, mostly Cru Bourgeouis or second wines from Margaux, Haut Medoc, Pomerol and Fronsac at 20+ bucks each.
Not sure if some of the wines may be over the hill though, but these are probably worth a shot if you're feeling adventurous.
Also saw an 01 Barolo available at 80 bucks. Good vintage there, not sure of the rather obscure producer.
Lots of Pfaffl Zweigelt available, at 30 discounted from 40.
Also some Rhone wines by Ferraton, under Chapoutier. Crozes Ermitage and single-vin Crozes at around 40 bucks.
Lots of Aussie wines available, but I didn't really dig there.
Overall I'm not familiar with the producers, and can't seem to get info off the net for most of them. Not sure if this is true, but Straits Wines say they tend to focus on small, family-owned wineries, which sounds good, but maybe a bit of gamble. Not sure if it's just marketing though.
