Crystal Wines just rolled out another Rhone Super Offer..

On an totally unrelated note, my friend will be joining us ont he 22nd of Dec at NUS.. And I'll be bringing 2 wines: 1 white and 1 red..

HKM, in light of the recent events, any chance you will be bringing a PALMER for us to drink next Saturday? :)

i have a feeling we will have a drunk afternoon:

sparkler - ikileo
white - hkm, starhappy, ikileo friend
red - starhappy, loiwte, reign
dessert - looiwte

8 wines in total
3 free corkage = 5 must pay corkage
5 x $30 = $150

pax:
ikileo + 1
ikileo friend
looiwte + 1
hkm
starhappy + 1
reign + 1

Total = 10 pax.

Additional corkage: $150 / 10 = $15

ya'll cool with that?

Thought he wanted to retire but I guess they made him an offer he can't refuse.

I think pricing and selection of wines are market-driven so it's hard to say. As a wine market I think it's tough to compete with Hongkong for the brand names and mainstream regions but perhaps we can offer more variety and alternative region coverage, if the education and demand go hand-in-hand.

Like Mr Happy said, for sure there will be more wine events happening here - whether we can afford them will be another matter...

Are you a fan of 'The Godfather'? lol

Haha.. actually taken from the news report:
"He declined to name his new investors but described them as "young visionaries" in financial services and information technology based in Singapore who presented him with a plan he could not refuse, according to the report."

But that doesn't stop me from wondering if RP ever said, "Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in."

So what do you guys make of the promotion of Lisa Perrotti-Brown, erstwhile eRP and Local Nose contributor, now Editor-In-Chief?

Isn't it always do cliche that these investors are financial people? Sometimes I wonder is it because they are in finance and have the $$ and then they see their other $$ friends are into wine and therefore they decide to get into it as well? Rather than having a interest without the $$?? Or maybe I'm just ranting

Anyway i've read some of Lisa's stuff. She writes for quite A number of other local and regional wine publications. She's ok.

Any advice on how to enjoy a port? Itchy fingers and got myself a Cockburn's Special Reserve Port. Was caught aback by how sweet and rich it is. Never expected that intensity. Almost like drinking syrup. In local speak, extremely "jelat" to drink.

Yes ibis a sweet and viscous drink versus a regular wine. It's meant to be sipped after dinner. U can pair it with cheese as others have said, or dried fruits. U don't have to drink a lot in a shot. Lightly chill it

Hey guys, for this coming sat lunch so we meet direct at 12pm? Those who are not too sure where it is, just drop me or looiwte a call since we've been there.

As for organization and stuffs, aside. From blinding/foiling your wine, try to put a marker to identify your wine, could be string or a permanent pen mark etc...

Let's try to get the wines decanted and ready to rock by lunch time since we don't have the luxury of a 4 hour meal. Haha.

Cant wait!

Isetan wine section has some nice wine promos. go down and take a look. a couple of moscatos for tastings. some were pretty good. balanced and complex instead of being one dimensional like most entry level brands.

yeah not surprising, heard reports earlier this year that this may happen.

oh well, not as if they don't have extra $$ lying around.

maybe all the fruits will go into their dry white wine.
