one of the biggest value buys of that evening was the CdR blanc made of 100% Clairette.
it was really very good and under $50. from Le Vigne. A southern rhone white wine with loads of acidity

where did you get this wine?

There are many importers in SG for wine. They are required by law to sticker into the bottle the importing company so your first line of contact is this. But u can also google around to find out more importers and distributors

My current wine fridge seems to be breaking down soon. About 4 years old. Any recommendation for a ~ 12btl sized fridge? Currently using a Farfalla 12 Btls tower version.

Thanks!

There are the usual couple of popular and reliable brands but they will cost some $$ like Vintec and Caveau. There are some mid priced ones like Kadeka.

You can walk into a larger Best Denki or Parisilk and ask them.

What is your preference? E.g. Full bodied or light, etc? That price can get some good range of australian, chilean or spainish wines.

Majella Cab Sauv 2009 going at $40 @ 1855. IMO quite a gd deal.
Can also check out the bin end sales @ crystal wines.

I am a cheapo... Always buy wines while on promo... Trying to get more out of my bucks. :p

Thanks for the recommendation! I want to try all the varieties, so full bodied or light will be fine. Will check them out! :)

Hi Liz,

Good that you are open to trying different varieties, as this is probably the best way for your nose and palate to tell you which wine suits you best!

One good way to do that is to join our bi-monthly thematic tasting sessions.. It's FREE! All you have to do is to bring along a bottle of wine that fits the theme, and you can get to taste the different wines that the forummers bring, and also share pointers with the seasoned drinkers.

Next one should be in May, and the theme is: Wines from USA.

Hope to see you at our next tasting. :)
