on another note, was at Enoteca today, they had a prosperity package which IMO was pretty good.

until 22 Jan.

IMO, the Castello di Ama combo IS A STEAL. It was one the best Chianti Classicos i had when I was in Tuscany last year and I visited their winery. the wines were amazing; especially the 2007 vintage. i bought one when i was in italy but i am letting that sleep. today's one that i bought i will try this year to see where it's at.

I had the 2010 grant burge cabernet, simple straightforward but well made. no complaints about it. Had it with a homecooked steak dinner tonight: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/e...pgt]-my-simple-homecooked-dinner-3567730.html

if u can't finish a whole bottle, u can cap it back or cork it and just leave it in a fridge or a cool place. for most wines commercially available, try to finish it within 24 hours.

u can check Wine Gallery, if i'm not wrong they have a decent selection of Argentinean wines. The Wine Gallery

i am hardly and expert...there's still a lot i dunno. :s22:

but no i am not a trade or in the wine industry or in the alcohol industry nor am i related or involved with anyone from the wine/alcohol industry.

it's just a big passion of mine, along with food and cooking :D

A lovely wine that I enjoyed a lot tonight. Good bottle size for a person... and I should have bought more!

My CT tasting notes

@hkm - did u buy this from vinum sales? i have cleared mine few weeks ago. find it is very full flavour on both the nose and palate. very well made st julien, but, maybe a touch too heavy to me. seems like u prefer heavy body bottle.. hehe

GONG XI FA CAI 2012 - 1-Day Flash SALE
valid till end of 18th Jan (Wed)

Dear Friends,

As the Lunar New Year draws closer, we take this opportunity to wish you a prosperous and blessed Dragon year ahead. GONG XI FA CAI!

Time to stock up with our 1-Day FLASH SALE:

German Rieslings

Kesselstatt
1. Josephshofer Riesling Kabinett 2009, $39 (RRP $58)
- JR 16, WA 89.
- Medium Sweet
- Limited to 12 per customer at this price.
Tasted 3 times in 2010, this wine has finally started to wear off its initial toasty bread smell (due to the natural yeast used in fermentation). It has now developed nicely to show white peach, grapefruit and fresh passion fruit on the nose. Very charming Riesling that puts a smile on your face as you sip and think about its lively flavours. Finely textured and elegant Kabinett with medium sweet but fruity-minerally finish. Drink now till 2025 WV (Aug 2011)

For other wines of Kesselstatt, please click here.

Van Volxem
2. Saar Riesling 2009, $38 (RRP $50)
- JR 16.5, TLN recommended wine
- Medium Dry
- Limited to 6 per customer.
From one of the few producers of German Rieslings who have already sold out their 2009 and 2010 vintage wines! We have already booked allocation for their 2011 (touted as the best vintage to date by this producer). Wines of Van Volxem is highly sought after in Germany. Medium dry style Rieslings which Roman, the owner, says are what German Rieslings used to be pre World War I (during their glory days when German Rieslings are more expensive than 1st Growth Bordeaux!).

For other wines of Van Volxem, please click here.

Donnhoff
3. Riesling trocken 2010 (new vintage), $39 (RRP $55)
- Dry Riesling
Great vintage for us (some producers suffered high acidity but not Donnhoff!), while not as fruity as 2009, it's freshness and clarity makes this a favourite among wine lovers of German Rieslings. Not to be missed at this price!
For other wines of Donnhoff, please click here.

French White

Chateau Reynon
4. Reynon Blanc 2010 (new vintage), $38 (RRP $50)
- Sauvignon Blanc
Made by famous Bordeaux University Professor of Oenology, its 2009 vintage sold very well when we first brought it in. Unlike New World Sauvignon Blanc, this one is more delicate and elegant instead of just fruit laden aromtics. Subtlety is the operative word here. If you are not a Riesling fan, this Sauv Blanc is great with Chinese food because it does not overpower our delicate and fine cuisine.

Champagne

5. Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve Grand Cru, $88 (RRP $125)
- Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs
- Top class grower champagne
- WA 92, WS 90, TLN recommended wine
Those who followed us already know the string of awards Pierre Peters won in the local blind tasting competitions in Singapore. The latest press coverage was this champagne appearing as the perfect pairing with Japanese cuisine in the Peak's 'G' gourmet and travel magazine. Connoiseurs in China are already seeking out Pierre Peters. Load up before the Chinese discover 'em.

6. Pierre Peters Reserve Privee Grand Cru (new), $98 (RRP $135)
- Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs
- Our very own champagne cuvee tailor made with Rodolphe Peters to suit the Asian palate and cuisine.
Less dry, more round yet balanced by good acidity. While the Japanese like super dry beer and champagne like the cuvee de reserve above, we find that our local palate prefer rounder champagne. Made from the same reserve as the cuvee the reserve. You will love this!

For prestige cuvee of Pierre Peters, click here.

French Red
7. Cellier Yvecourt 2009, $23(RRP $29)
- Red Bordeaux
- Merlot blend
- Winner of Best Entry Level Bordeaux at Wine Review Challenge 2010
- TLN Recommended Wine
Our best selling red wine. At this price, you would be hard pressed to find a better Red Bordeaux!

8. Premius 2008, $33 (RRP $39)
- Red Bordeaux
- Merlot Blend
- Silver medal at Concours du Mondial, Brussells 2010.
Premium cuvee of Yvon Mau, the same producer of our award-winning Cellier Yvecourt.

9. Clos de Reynon 2009 (new), $38 (RRP $48)
- Red Bordeaux
- Merlot Blend
- 2nd wine of Chateau Reynon red
We have already sold out its Chateau Reynon 2008 and 2009 red. This is their 2nd wine. Fruity and full bodied and well structured. A testament to the outstanding 2009 vintage. After you try this, you will be convinced by why the wine world raved about the 2009 Bordeaux vintage.

10. Roger Sabon Chateauneuf-du-Pape 'Reserve' 2008, $60 (RRP $80)
- WS 92
- Limited to 12 per customer at this price.
Little introduction is needed for Roger Sabon, one of the top names of the most expensive appellation in Southern Rhone - Chateauneuf-du Pape. 2008 vintage is drinking superbly and delicious. We have already sold out it's younger brother CdP 'Les Olivet' 2008. You have to hurry to buy at this price! 2009 vintage (great vintage for CdP) of the same wine will retail at $88. 2009 Roger Sabon wines will arrive in early March.

Note: Min. Purchase is 6 bottles. All prices are incl. of GST. Free delivery for orders above $500. Otherwise $25 delivery fee applies. Last delivery is on 19th Jan (Thurs).

Yeah I got that mail. The $29 bdx is a good deal while a number of the 09 Rieslings need time, especially the volxem.
