hokkaido not as accessible compared to tokyo and osaka. but the tourist attractions are still accessible, so not a problem if u dun drive.
just note that trains and buses may not be as frequent for some places, so need to take note of the schedule when planning

For me, i also dun drive and solo trip, transport still not a major problem for me, though i still lost my way many times. :X

Best Western & Pacific century both v good & reasonable price, when there's promo.

Toyoko Inn - more business class no frills hotel & more economical.

All are within 3 minute walk from / within Sap JR station
