Hi,

would it be possible for me to upgrade my laptop existing wireless card? Its half size. Intel Wireless-N 7260 2.4 GHz. I want to upgrade to a newer wireless card or a 5 GHz supported one. Any advices? Would it be possible?

It really depends on your notebook. Some notebook's wireless card can be upgraded.

Mine is the Vostro 5470 and I upgraded my wireless card to Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.

I did the same with my son Dell Vostro 5470.
You can get one from Laser for less than $50.

Some brand's motherboards may have a whitelist, which only accepts certain network cards.

I had to flash my HP notebook's BIOS in order for it to boot up with my new Intel wireless AC 7260 card.

well some notebook like HP, dell or IBM have a bios whitelist and u can only use cards which the notebook manufacturer allows

if u have such a notebook , then use usb wireless adaptors , this doesn't depend on bios whitelist
