hi,

was charging my iphone 15 plus using a 3 in 1 wireless charge which charge the iphone, airpods pro and apple watch,

i found that in maybe 1 hr, the phone feels warm so i took it from the charger,

i am wondering if anyone uses wireless charging and what is your experience about wireless charging vs traditional charging use a cable and insert into the phone every night or every time you charge it ?

thanks in advance

just my few cents

pros :

no need to poke the cable into the phone, when trade in my iphone 14, the shop commented that there are some scratches at the charging port an deduct 30 dollars off the phone re-sale price,

since then i bought a sticker to protect my charging ports

but some of them can charge multi devices, so when you are at office or outside or travelling, you dont have to bring so many charging cables

cons :

expensive, the magnetic chargers are not cheaper vs just a charging cable

it gets hot when charging which is a concern,

Wireless/Magsafe charging has always been related to heat, which is the main catalyst to battery degrading.

I still occasionally use magsafe charging, but mainly still using cable.

imo "charging port sticker" will eventually accumulate dust underneath & the dust will scratch your phone anyway, so YMMV.

Multiple devices charging can consider GaN chargers from Ugreen or Anker etc, can charge multiple devices at the same time, but you still need alot of cables, but only need 1 brick.

I use Wireless Magsafe Charging at my deskstop and also in my car.

Especially for my car, I enjoy the convenience of just using the magnets to attach or detach my phone easily from the dashboard.
The Magsafe magnet standard is also strong enough to take my high speed ( within legal limits) acceleration and braking along PIE and also for the usual speed bumps on normal roads.
My phone is quite securely attached and won't drop off.

As for your phone being heated up, that is quite normal.

It is not too hot to the point of being unable to be held in your hands.

I would describe it as being warmed up.
