Just a little feedback on my vStarcam T7838WIP which i got since April 2014.. During the first 5 months this camera was working wonderful and it was a simple plug & play IP camera.

During Sep 2014, the firmware update start to have issue on my IP camera.. It starts to motion detection record until up to 5-6 days and it stops. I would have to often restart the IP camera... I put up a post here in hwz and also email Marix Support...After that there was no reply and i thought they might need some time to feedback to the developers ...

There were firmware updates in between Sep 14 to March 15 which i hope resolve the issue... I find the firmware speeding up the interface and resolve other bugs but not my issue at all...In march 2015, I drop another email to continue report my issue... All i got was a forwarded email to another Marix support engineer and no reply after that... .. I also find my issue degrading as it now only motion detection records up to 3 days and it stops recording.. Every restart of the IP camera wipes up all past recording...

Sadly today i decide to switch off my vStarcam as i no longer have faith that my issue will fix... i will proceed to look to other brands & model..

exactly. Buy a device but comes with ZERO warranty. Marix is the worst distributor you could have ever meet.

Why would someone buy zero warranty product in Singapore? This is not Omega or Rolex watch. You may as well order from internet.

Dear Gribber, doran_lum,

We would like to arrange a collection of your camera and microSD card to do a hardware & firmware test to see what causes the stop recording in your cameras.

Kindly contact our office for arrangement.

Why this is happening on a Forum page? Its for forum users to discuss issues. Not for making sales or service support!!

How many containers are we talking about here, lets send all this garbage back to where it came from. Marix should conduct a call back of all VSTARCAMS immediately as there is potentially someone getting hurt or a break in when the cam is not working.

I think it is a nice gesture for distributor to take ownership of it through forums as well.

Thought only PARALLEL IMPORTERS dont offer warranty...lol

well... that is the reason when i make the purchase but it turns out to be ...

Its mandatory according to yellow law for the vendor to conduct total recall of the defective product in the market. Sony did when their battery was defective. So did Toyota when there was a fault in the braking system

Agree wif Gribber, if MARIX takes it up on forum, it shows they r genuinely taking ownership to resolve issue.

However, hope they can resolve it for both of you with the factory. Otherwise, its a brand killer for vstarcam.

But ultimately, the firmware n hardware portion belongs to vstarcam. It's pretty up to the factory to provide perm solution.

It's really very heartening to see forumers contribute their user experience on products. I would pay marix a visit when they collected ur cameras. So, let me know when u guys have yours collected, I'll send mine in too to see wats the hardware diff as mine is working.

In case you r not aware of. Marix ever did a recall of a wrong faulty sensor issued from factory for the alarm series.

If there is a need for recall, I'm sure they will do it.

Sorry that if my post was to create misunderstanding.. I believe after service support should be one of the buying criteria when purchasing any items.. I'm just stating my experience and not looking for any service support.. As mention, I had already plug off and store the IP camera aside.

I would have to disagree if someone says Marix is not a worst distributor as I do get their initial reply but just not enough follow-up. I suspect they might be lacking a proper ticketing system to track issues, but there's always room for improvement...

Anyone using
Original Xiaomi Yi IR Night Vision WiFi IP Camera Intelligent 720P Baby Monitor Security Camera 4X Digital Zoom Camcorder

http://m.gearbest.com/ip-cameras/pp_193393.html under $50

To review/ comment?

Not released yet in China, I am also waiting to buy 1 to test drive. But, there are also a lot of registered complains for their xiaoyi camera on the software portion and setups. Nothing is perfect, but this is cheap for normal use. Expecting a pan/tilt version soon from them.

Bro, dun worry, its good that you share your experience to all here. MARIX is not perfect still. But distributors here are also at the mercy of the factory if they (factory) refused to co-operate. I had my personal experience before contacting the Chinese tech support before. U can really vomit blood getting them to solve a bug.
