Quality: 3 Levels - Low, Medium, High

In the Application itself, under Setup, the Video Profile is set to Low Resolution to allow you to establish the fastest connectivity and streaming. You may change this to your preference, I personally like to leave it at Low so that I can connect to the camera at the shortest time and change resolution during streaming based on my network condition

The Low Resolution is clear to show you the surround, but not in greater details. Speed of motion is very constant and instant*.

The Medium Resolution gives you resolution in greater details, words can be seen clearly from the picture below.

The High Resolution brings everything in the greatest possible details, image are sharper and you can definitely see the difference between medium and high. In high details, everything is clearer but speed wise, if under 4G conditions, may have to expect your expectation on the streaming continuity.

* There will definitely be a streaming delay for all IP Cameras.

I like the fact that LIVE view, they start you up with a HELP screen showing you what the icons represent. You can hide this recurrent display after you get familiar with the interface.

LIVE View Recording Possible

The camera supports up to 30 seconds LIVE view recording to either local phone or camera’s microSD card. This allows us to capture critical video evidence when we need to.

Recording Resolution

You have the flexibility to choose recording of using either 720P or 1080P resolution in your recording, default is 720P, so this allows you to consider either clearer recording or longer recording option. MicroSD max supported size is 128GB.

Playback Feature

The Playback module is very easy to use, select the date, and select the Type of recording you are retrieving, and the camera will bring you to an innovative interface that allows you to search for the clips and starts the playback. Upon completion of playback, the APP interface allows you to play the next clip.

Web Interface

In an event which your office does not allows you to use your mobile to connect to the WIFI but you have a web-browser, you can still login to the cloud interface to access your cameras

Special Product Features

Privacy Mode

The camera comes with a Privacy Mode which you can set your schedule according to needs, so that the camera will switch off Live viewing, event, alarm and recording features during the privacy timing that you define in the scheduler. This gives you a piece of mind that your room activities are not being broadcast out to the internet if you put one in your bedroom. What you will noticed is that the camera will tilt itself down and position lens downwards to the base

Auto Tracking

This is one feature that I seriously love to talk about, the camera is able to detect motion & audio and tracks the source once you turn this feature on via web or APP. Example; if you have a pet that is hyper active at home, the camera can pick up the motion/audio** and tracks it so that you can see what is going on, which conventional cameras does not have this feature at all. That means no need for Ultra Wide Angles that makes the image curve at the edges and blurs out the quality of the images.

** My effective range is within 3 metres, the closer, the more responsive the tracking is

Here is a clip which shows the effectiveness of the AUTO-TRACKING in the night, note that the clip quality on my microSD card is much better than the uploaded one which has been compressed on the website. At the back of the clip, the camera was moved back to position to monitor the sofa area.

Motion & Audio Detection

The first of its kind to have both features available in a single camera and have the option to adjust each feature’s sensitivity individually according to needs. The motion detection allows you to setup up to 3 ZONES for area detection. A very useful feature to prevent full screen detection (or false alarm)

Image Encryption

Samsung cameras supports encryption of your data over the internet, when you enable the Image encryption, your streaming is encrypted and thus, taken care of the security concern over intercepted transmission over the internet! However, this means a hit on your speed of access since decryption is required.

Wide Dynamic Range

This is one helpful feature on Samsung’s cameras, when your surrounding is dark, you can activate the WDR to allow the camera to auto compensate the surround area by doing adjustments to the brightness, etc. So that you can see more clearly, and this feature is extremely helpful when you try to see a person face more clearly against strong sunlight.

Image with WDR enabled. You can see now that the image that is against the light are adjusted so that you can see more in details, the bicycle area will show you more details in terms of the decals and wordings on it.

Summary

There is room for improvement. I personally felt that it can be better. For example, to return to previous screen/menu instead of needing the user to press cancel after you save to a screen. Hope Samsung makes improvement over this.

In a nutshell about this camera, an amazing 1080P HD resolution and top notch features packed in a small package. Auto tracking, motion and audio detection alarms, privacy mode for bedrooms, easy to use app, notification, good playback module with easy search function.

The camera is priced at $269, which is equivalent to the US RRP pricing of USD199, full of new features, great playback module and performance stability.

It comes with 2 Years warranty from Convergent Systems (S) P/L, and is available also in Gain City megastore and showrooms.

Nice review...one question, the viewing angle is 80.9 degrees, does the auto tracking works within the 80.9 degrees angle ? if it is just within the 80.9 degrees, then it defeats the purpose because there are many blinds spots and 80.9 degrees is rather narrow. Anything out of the 80.9 degrees are blind spots.

3 metres is too short a distance. When you mount the camera on the ceiling, point of view could be more than 3 metres away already. A decent distance will be 8 metres.

Can show screenshot of the night vision ?

If I am not wrong, D-link used to have that privacy mode in the past but it was removed. Not too sure why it was removed.

Next, auto tracking as far as I can see is triggered via audio n motion. I studied a few of the recorded clips, the camera moves to area where there is audio when there is no motion noted. This is kinda good.

Effective range of 3metre is most accurate to me. The camera have been able to track movement as far as 6 metres in the test. But with some hit miss rates.

Now, viewing of angles, the wider the better for us since we get to see more. But the edges get curved up and will be not clear, motion detection will also be affected in most cases not to mention night vision of centrally focus and not evenly spread. This was proven with wanscam camera and OEMs.

Yah, cos the surrounding is dim by curtains. I think this also quite accurately reflect the cameras capability in low lighting as well which is good.

I also lazy to wait til the sun is bright since the place is not mine.

Going to be getting my first IP camera and thought of asking some general questions here. Wondering if anyone here uses HIKVision IP Camera, in particular this model DS-2CD2432F-IW.

How is the experience so far? And according to Synlogy, this model is compatbile with Synology Surveillance Station but ONLY version Device Pack 1.1-0116. What does this means?

Anyone can kindly enlighten?

Hikvision is good. Top 10 manufacfurer in china for commercial surveillance. I think it means your surveillance station must be version 1.1-0016 and above

Where is your router located ? As my fibre ONT and wireless router is located at my door entrance in a concealed spot, it affects my cams viewing due to the weak WiFi coverage. I have a WiFi extender and it helps a great deal with the ipcam.

Especially when you have your WiFi routers conceal in an enclosed cabinet...

Hi, I bought a TPlink wifi extender, as the spots where my cameras were had very poor coverage.

My router is in one of the bedroom, so the wifi signal is weak in the living room, and 0 in the kitchen (probably due to the location of the bomb shelter.)

Those using Sineoji, do you get frozen video when you are watching live?

Will have to exit and open the app again. Sometimes it happens again after reopening the app also.

Other than this issue, I think the 2 models I bought are great! I have the 713 for my living room and a 497 for the kitchen.

713's wide angle lens allow me to cover the entire living room instead of buying 2 cameras.

The above issue is solved with Dean going down to my place to troubleshoot.

Actually, prior to going down, he had already guessed the problem.

The wifi extender has to have a different wifi name from the router. But when setting up, it will default ask to use the same name.

Despite changing the name of the wifi extender, I lost connection to both my cameras. The one in the living room when I clicked on the reset button, and the one in the kitchen as soon as I changed the wifi name to connect to.

So Dean came over and helped me to reset both cameras with his laptop. And they are both working fine now.

Been trying the whole day, and I have yet to encounter any freezing video.

I will rate the cameras 4 to 4 plus / 5 stars for giving me some initial problem, which was partially my fault. Ok, maybe mostly.
But the video quality is very good for me.

For their service, I can only give 5 / 5 stars.
I have told them, and I am saying again now. I have never encountered any installer who will call and message to chase for updates on the issue, and when they can come over to help to resolve the issue. My experience had always been me chasing and installers ignoring. This experienced definitely a wow factor for me!

Interesting. .you are seeking an opinion from someone who is bashing sineoji in the past ? Rather than asking from majority here who has been using Sineoji with substantial positive feedback ?

You are checking from the same source who have been promoting vstarcam in the past to we consumers and ended up buying with a white elephant sitting at home? And turn out one day to inform us that vstarcam are gone with the days and their server compromise ? Server compromise?

And suggesting to get a cheap ip camera to ship across the globe with frequent flyer miles with no warranty and if damage, trash it and get a new one ?

Is just as splurge our dollars and cents? Are we cash rich ? Or do we have the time to manage this ?
