Setup the Samsung SNH-P6410BN yesterday to replace my old D-Link DCS-5221L. Wireless installation was quick and simple with iOS SmartCAM app, no need to connect cable from CAM to router.

Really like the wide-angle view compared to my old D-Link DCS-5221L PTZ as panning is not always smooth when controlling it under remote. No more frustrating PTZ with my mobile phone/ipad :s12::s12::s12:

One weakness of Samsung SNH-P6410BN will be the infrared capability. I see can't much for any objects further than 2 meters. The D-Link DCS-5221L allows me to see further in the dark...

IR Specs:
Samsung SNH-P6410BN: 5m
D-Link DCS-5221L: 8m

Actually, all PNP cameras even if need to plug in routers, you do not need to know anything about the router. All U need is wifi SSID n password.

Your router will issue IP address to your PNP cameras and connects them to the internet. You simply can view over the mobile immediately. Very idiot proof.

So far, I do find some cameras from MARIX as value for money as their cams comes with wide angle n costs r below the price tags of $200, their Christmas promo is quite insane @ $89 or $99 for wide angle lens pan/tilts.

But I am looking forward to their new ranGe soon.

I believe its the mounting. The $89 one is wall n ceiling mount, whereas the other one models (7835/38) is ceiling mount. Specs all look the same. Judging from the base. I think board design is diff.

i'm having problems setting up my Foscam FI9821W.

No matter what I do, I am not able to even see anything in the camera tool software. I have followed all torubleshooting instructions and still not able to detect the Foscam IP. I have hard wired the Foscam to the router (Starhub Cisco Router Modem). Anyone able to help? Thanks.

I don't think so, if I'm not wrong needs to plug in to router on set up.

May not need to. Some IP cameras come with a default IP address if DHCP is not available. You just need to plug the camera to your laptop. Configure your laptop network port to be in the same LAN segment as the default IP address of the camera. Once done, you can use your web brower to access the set-up of the IP camera. In fact, this is how I set up all my IP cameras... connect them to my PC first and configure them to work with my WiFi router.

The smart cam can upload images to google plus photo.

And i just google and found out, all photos that are pixel below 2048 x 2048 are not counted towards the space used.

I just checked, i was in the room for more than 2 hours, about 415+ snapshots taken.

All taken at 1920 x 1080 only so meaning it doesn't eat into my space and i can like take unlimited pictures forever

Hi

For the C7838 wide angle lens, is the night view as clear as before, compared to the C7838 normal angle lens? Can anyone provide some feedback on this? Thanks.

where you try to set up from?

I asked over whatsapp the site I bought from and they quite quickly taught me how to.

Using the Samsung SmartCam app, go to your camera Set Up, under Event, Google account set up then check on Picasa which will upload to your Google + account.
