Wireless Keyboard & Mouse losing signal...

Hello,

I have a problem and would like some advice... I am using the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000 v2.0 and Mouse combo. My wireless receiver is plugged into a Orico USB 3.0 7-port hub connected to the back of my desktop tower on the tabletop. My keyboard and mouse is placed on a keyboard drawer that can slide underneath the desk. The desk and keyboard drawer are all made of wood.

Usually the keyboard and mouse works fine. However, increasingly, I find that when I plug in a USB flash drive into the same USB hub or place a laptop on the space in front of my monitor, or even place a mobile phone or tablet in front of the monitor, my keyboard and mouse will lose reception and they behave in a wonky manner. For example, I get delayed reactions from keyboard and mouse inputs or any inputs are not even registered.

The above problems go away if I place the keyboard and mouse on the desktop next to the hub. I can keep the mobile phone or tablet or laptop in the same position...

Any ideas what is the cause? Should I change my keyboard and mouse set? Or change the USB hub? or reposition the Hub? It has been fine for quite a few years until more recently... perhaps over the past year or two.

My USB hub has a single row of ports all facing upwards on a narrow strip.

USB3.0 frequency is within the same radio frequency range as wireless mouse.

The more u have, the more interference u get.

Work on your cabling skill.

Buy a USB Extension Cable.
Let it have Direct Signal with no interference.

Yes, not suppose to go thru hub.

Good usage of the hub to minimize cabling interference can actually help.

We already know USB3.0 causes interference with the 2.4GHz band.

However, I used to have my router tucked beneath my table and most of my wireless peripherals stopped working.

Moved the router over to another room, everything was solved.

Mobile and networking devices are generally the culprit of interference. I've had a fair share of infra wireless mouse/ keyboard connectivity issues typically near my router as well(which is on my computer table).

My router is on the top of my CPU tower, while I pull the USB3.0 hub cable from the back of the tower to the front. Which is the purpose of the USB3.0 hub... so the wifi signals are not interfered with but my wireless mouse and keyboard got problem cos the wireless receiver dongle is plugged into the USB3.0 hub... so from what I read the USB3.0 hub generates interference once I plug in a USB3.0 flash drive or USB2.0 flash drive or a USB2.0 card reader or a USB2.0/3.0 cable to connect my tablets or phones... need to find a USB2.0 port for my wireless receiver it seems... but I think I only have USB3.0 ports and they are all at the back of my CPU tower... help!

If you have spare bays at the front, you could install a usb front panel hub.
