So... I downloaded the app and used the login to create the certificate.

First time login was successful.

But on subsequent days, it will prompt me for password and despite entering the correct password, it will never allow me to login. Why?!?

Agree, it is really crap and has been for so many years. The operators continue to get funding from gov to provide crap. Hope they close it down soon.

You need to check whether you're connected to wireless@sgx or wireless@sg.

If wireless@sgx, after you install the certificate, it will not prompt any logins and connect automatically.

But if connected to wireless@sg, it will always prompt for login.

Yup, last time when connected to wireless@sg, it always prompted me for the password.

After I got my 6+ & updated to iOS 8 & subsequently iOS 9, it automatically connects me to wireless@sgx, w/o prompting for password.

It is not the usual web-based login prompt. It is an iOS window prompt. I will add a screenshot soon

Precisely it gets funding, thats why they need to make it work. Or else they are wasting our $$. I can't let Singtel and the contractors earn the "bonus" for running them without it working properly.

Anyway, the affected stations are intermittent, but I just specify it to be Serangoon and Buona Vista.

This has happened to me before as well. I usually off wifi, then on wifi again and reconnect. Usually works. Or wait a couple of mins and re-try again.

I'm on 6s.

Have had problems ever since iphone 4. And i've since used iphone 5, note 3, note edge & now 6S+. Aways have problem logging in regardless if its free wireless@sg or the secured one. 9 out of 10 times cant log on. That rare time that can, it will disconnect soon after.

If device(s) does not support SIM card but can WiFi access ONLY.

How to connect to free wireless in SG? (iOS /Andriod/etc )
User does not have any login-in account or ID or password.
i.e. no register to Singtel/M1/StarHub/etc, no login-in name and no password.

downloaded the app
it will prompt for login and password, What login name ? Password?
[For SIM card with valid SIM HP number, auto connect after sometimes]

This link is good for wireless@sgx configuration. Can use SIM Login (no need to create wireless@sg account) for mobile phones. Works for any telco operator. For iPhone users, just download the profile from the website and auto connect.

IDA was restructured so the configuration links provided by the telcos were not updated and it took me a while to find.

Either that or use the wireless@sg app to generate the SIM login profile

Yea, it authenticates via your SIM card.
If you're interested, you can read up on EAP-SIM
