Wisdom tooth referral

I kena pressured by my parents to check whether I got wisdom tooth or not. They say do now better because its free while after I ORD it will be a few thousand.

I don't really want to go medical center ask for referral because well, I hate the way how most MOs always treat us as chao keng kias even before looking at us.

I was wondering, if going polyclinic get referral is the same?

Just go to your MO, then they will refer you to a camp with dentist...

Then from there you can request to be referred to public hospitals such as Khoo Teck Puat or Tan Tock Seng

why worry how others think? most important is you can save money for you and your parents. When the mo really see have wisdom tooth he won't think of what chao geng or not.

Oh course the additional stayout mc is a good bonus

alternatively, you can just to polyclinic and ask for referral for dental...

Believe it or not, 1 year 9 months in NS and I have never taken any MC before. Only took 3 days atten B in tekong because of diarrhea. Why do I need guilty conscience?

Not sure whether is it because you are guilty conscience or because of pride or ego issue, you would rather have your parents foot the bill than get the gahment to pay for the removal of your wisdom teeth because you "hate the way how most MOs always treat us as chao keng kias even before looking at us." (generalisation/sweeping statement/second guessing/etc etc).

So what if they "treat all as chao keng kiaos before looking at all"? So just because of that you rather not see them? I sense serious pride and ego issue here.

Now is not so much about getting free referral. The fact that you have to be "pressured" by your parents already shows you may have some pride and ego issue.

Okay I don't really care whether I have pride or ego issues, or whether I have guilty conscience or not. I just want to get a free referral from polyclinic to a dental clinic and I hope someone can advice me whether I can do that or not.

well my friend just walk into KTPH A&E and say that they are having bad tooth pain, got refer to dental and get 1 consultation and 1 surgery date sequently!

If your camp got Dental Officer, see dental officer, if there's no dental officer in your camp, find out which dental officer in another camp takes care of your camp and go book appt.

Polyclinic also got dental clinics but not all and appointments are very far in the future maybe more than 6 months. If you are SAF personnel, they may ask you just go to your DO to see.

If you are in denial about your pride and ego issue, then nobody can help you.

My best advice, just go try instead of asking here. YOU NEVER TRY YOU NEVER KNOW. period

I might have been lucky, my polyclinic appointment was within the week and was referred to AH the following week or so.

I think DOs may not be army personnel? Hard to keng dental problems also la... Accept the fact that NSFs do keng and MOs have to be skeptical.

Polyclinic dental service? Then you must be pretty lucky u call that time got someone give up that slot. But I remb when I was in NS, I called and try to make appointment they told me to go my camp's DO.

Well TS got some serious ego and pride issue so he will always be living with a guilty conscience.

I think I might have used my family doctor to refer me to the polyclinic dental service -who in turn referred me to AH-... It's been 4 years or so, give it a shot. Might help quicken the darn process.

Sucks to be him then when he leaves the shelter and enter the real world.

Oh dude, never say you're serving NS, you just drop to the bottom of the queue. LOL

It's stupid I agree but it expedited the process, my wisdom tooth was causing me pain.

I've been scolded a few times when i go hospital to report sick at night, doc will ask me why I go hospital for what when I am serving NS. Just shot her back and said, "I have stuff to check/repair where got time to report to MO before they close?"

Probably put you in the same queue as civilians ? Haha no idea man... Or maybe my doc said that his patient was finding the pain slightly unbearable already.

Only time I saw the DO was for overseas FFI and ORD FFI, so all pre-booked for me by Bn or Coy clerk already.

They probably expect you not to 'waste' civilian resources when it is unnecessary la.

Whatever it is, ORD long ago already... Gotten my 4 x wisdom extraction. Saved a lot of money...
