if change at major tourist areas or banks should be quite safe.
so far those who post here that they changed there seems to be so far so good.

some land tours you book in korea are also charged in usd.

In Spore I changed at 843 at the Arcade. This money changer at Myeong-dong gives 845 (4th Nov). It is located at Myeong-dong subway, Exit 6. Just walk 10 meters and you will see the small shop. See picture.

imo, its abit risky to change money at the destination. changing some over here would be a safer option first

May I know what's the danger about changing money in Korea? Counterfeit? Is there a history? If it's other countries can understand but korea?

There are a lot of money changers at Myengdong area, and at Nandaemon also.
Some just look like a roadside store.
And none display exchange rate so need to ask.

Think one worry is they may not accept Sing $.

See their display is mainly for USD, Yen, HKD and RMB only.

And when I arrived at Inchon on 2/11, one of the money changer at the airport was only offering 815 for Sing $.

I have quite a bit of left over Won.
Will offer it here after I count them later.

sing dollar is accepted almost everywhere. no need to be scared of that

Okay~ think I got a better idea from the replies..

It's not much the rates since the difference is like 2-3 won which doesn't even have a value.. unless you're changing thousands of dollars of which the difference would be 3000won which is 4SGD worth..

I think its more of where to change money if you need extra for expenses..
