Does anyone have any recommendations for a laptop that can handle some excel/google sheets work and just some casual use (watching videos etc)
Budget is pretty tight tho under 700? Idm secondhand as long as its from trustable place or good quality

you should probably give more information like:
1.Preferred screen size eg. 14'?
2.Preferred weight?
3.Required storage space?

Tbh with your budget any laptop you get can do that.

The only question is if you have specific needs and whether your budget can afford it.

For your use acer swift 1 should be good enough. The price is just around 720 if im not wrong. Its really light and has a fingerprint scanner so dont have to type password all the time. And should be sufficient for your usage

In fact, for SGD600, you can actually get an Acer Aspire 5 Slim laptop at Amazon SG with the following specifications:

- 15.6 inches Full HD IPS Display,
- AMD Ryzen 3 3200U,
- AMD Radeon Vega 3 Graphics,
- 4GB DDR4, 128GB SSD,
- Backlit Keyboard

With that SGD100 left, you can either upgrade the RAM to 16GB or to a higher capacity SSD.


Note: AMD Ryzen 3 3200U is better than Intel Core i5-8250U

check out other threads, there are so many threads with people asking for laptop recommendations for about your price range.

How urgent do you need your laptop?
Are you willing to wait about 1 month or do you need a laptop urgently?

So sorry for the late replies! Ill check this out as it seems to be the best option, it's currently put of stock sadly but ill keep this in mind!

I urge you to consider lenovo thinkpad E14 gen 2 amd 4500u series, about low 800 after promo.
This acer cannot do much multi tasking. I feel the lagginess when open powerpoint, excel and outlook at the same time. Even after i bump the ram to 16gb. Fir single task definitely fine, i believe the bottleneck is from the 3200u.
Now use E15 gen 2 no issue at all.
