work contract question

In my work contract, under the 'Work Period' section, it states this:

'Commencing on 30th January 2014 to 30th July 2014 or until further notice of the completion of the assignment period and require to give one day's notice of termination by either party.'

does it mean that if I want to quit, I can tell my boss today, and then tmr I no need to work anymore?

One full day of notice.

Means your boss acknowledges your intention to quit BEFORE work starts, then you finish today's work and that serves as one day.

Doesn't count if you tell your boss 5 mins before knock off and say you won't be here tomorrow.

But common practice is to tell today, work tomorrow as the last day.

oh i see, scared I tell my boss then he not happy. but what does it mean 'or until further notice of completion of assignment' means minimum I can end work is until the date the contract states?
