Hi this is what i mean

Is there a physical separation of the outsole and midsole or is it just a superficial line?

Imo if its superficial then its just normal scuff marks from office wear. Either layer juts out and isnt completely flush so the scuffing is along that leading edge.

Theres alot of scuffing at unusual angles going on that we dont realise seated at work in the office. Crossed legs, feet on table, leg shaking, banging against the desk drawer etc. And then throw in the office carpet to boot :s13:

Hi no there is mnt any squeaking. Is a gyw shoes but dont think is a scuff mark or anything. There is no physical speration but just have the line. What i did after posting is use a very fine sand paper sand it flat and apply saphir edge dressing dye. I see if it works when i wear it.
Thou no seperation, if i run my finger along the edge, i can actually feel the line thats why i sand it. The other side got no such issue and the other pair i have from the same brand has no such issue as well. I rmb reading somewhere in this thread that someone has this prob too

Just curious, how many here will actually resole their GYW shoes? Given that shipping 2 way already costs so much

Happy Socks is easiest. Available at Llyr.
Quality is so-so.

Try H&M and Uniqlo. Cheaper. Quality is fine. H&M has new designs every now and then so it's affordable to keep changing. I find happy socks design to be too loud and more expensive.

I bought some supima cotton sock from renoma. But is like stocking when worn. Is abit see thru. Are all supima sock like that or depends?

Depends on how thick or thin the fabric of the sock is. Supima only refers to the type of cotton.

My understanding thru this forum and my friends is that resoling is not necessary in the medium term (3-5 years) due to one of or a combination of the following reasons: topy/vibram, can last long time w/o resoling, or have enough shoes to rotate and not trigger resoling for a long time or buy/sell make way for new shoes or issues encountered with the upper, no point to resole.

Sole protectors are like the cheat codes for GYW shoes. Once it wears out just change a new one indefinitely.

Cheat codes tend to ruin the experience so there

Agreed. To be honest, haven't heard of any re-soling experience from any of the guys here.

Will be great if anyone who had the experience could share the process and the cost. Have seen some pics on the net of > 10 yr old shoes where the maker throws in some really solid polishing of the uppers.

With regards to pricing for resoling GYW shoes, there's the price that EEA is quoting.

Shukey did it in 1hr. Masterfix quoted me 2hrs.

I see.

Is it recommended to go to more reputable cobbler like those in town?
Or neighborhood branches of Shukey/Masterfix is skillful enough, just afraid they will do half past six quality for topy/vibram.

I always thought Shukey or Masterfix was quite reputable.

But my latest experience at Suntec Shukey had much better workmanship than Masterfix at Seletar Mall.

Lower prices and faster turnaround times work in Shukeys favour too.
