My opinion is, in order to place tassel loafers in the same ball park as white leather sneakers, the loafers gotta be in suede.

Otherwise, they're not really in the same hemisphere in terms of function, especially in burgundy calf.

Having said that, I'd do white leather sneaker first before tassel loafers. They gotta have a "lux" vibe though. Clean cut, high quality leather, good construction. Jack Purcels don't cut it.
If you are lacking both which one you get as a next shoe? And does the sneaker in the above image make the cut?

Totally agree. Both are essential.

Sorry, I edited while you were replying. Like I said, I'd do a pair of high quality white leather sneakers first. Something along the lines of Common Projects/Gustin/Buttero.

There's just something about white leather sneakers. They're smart without being stuffy. Youthful but not delinquent. In our Singaporean context, they are far easier to wear on weekends. Comfort is a given.

As for buying both, it's a matter of time...

** Yes, the pair you posted will do the job, although I'd invest in something with higher quality leather. They pay off. Really.

The ones from Gustin are really nice.. sadly they wouldn't get much feet time as I already have a few pairs of casual loafers and sneakers.

Too many shoes, too little feet.... :s13:

Jack Purcells and Converse All stars are decent choices without breaking the bank, if that style floats your boat, dun let others tell you otherwise.

If someone looks down on you just because you didn't buy a "branded" shoe, you probably dun want anything to do with them anyway.

Canvass are a deal breaker though

Something I did for the fun of it... Wanted to inject some fun into an old pair of shoes....

One side after using decapant, the other still in it's original colour:

Both sides after removing most of the colour:

Simple patina and light polishing and adding a little more texture using black wax:

I kept the colour grey as I wanted to try out doing a gray patina on a pair of shoes to try out so you might not see much change in colour compare to it's original colour.

Nothing fancy about the origins of this pair. Just a normal "fashion" shoe. It's not GYW or anything but the leather was able to take a beating from the decapant. You can see from the inner lining that it's peeling off but nonetheless fun to play around with.

Hi guys, I just purchased the saphir renovateur and saphir black creme for my shoes.

I'm following the instructions in this youtube video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TufU2SgpeUs

Are the instructions correct? Also, how often should I apply the renovateur and creme, assuming shoes are alternated daily?

Thanks

Guys, for a budget of $300, can recommend some shops to go to in SG?

Have an ed et al so wanna try others. Need it for CNY, emailed meermin but they don't reply one

I've seen marxb but not sure have double/single monk suede ones not. No suede also ok.. Need to find matching color belts too.

I've tried going to mainstream ones like Pedro but always no matching belts.

Else there's always carouhell if you're adventurous.

Thanks for the feedback!

I had also asked herring shoes and this is their reply for benefit of everyone

The Renovator should only be applied when you need to remove the build up of wax.

Normally after at least a few months as it strips the top layer.

Creme you can use every day as long as you remove any excess thats fine.
