For buying shoes, i actually prefer FedEx over DHL.
And a big part of that is that they will bill me later for GST and not attempt to collect cash (in exact amounts) at the door when they deliver. One heck of a hassle.

It definitely is less comfortable than my Barkers as those are in G fit so I'm only hoping it'll break in to wear slightly more comfortable. I got these partly due to the relatively good price, albeit an expensive pair nonetheless.

I have pretty wide feet so have not actually tried on other brands with G fit besides Barker/Loake/Herring since I consider these 3 brands to have very similar lasts.

Same sizing across all these?

Which Loake last you tried?

Anyone with experience with Llyr and Carmina Simpson can chip in regarding their fit/sizing comparison?

I believe 026 last and Barker G are very similar. 024 should still be wider than Carmina's Rain too as the UK brands generally have a slightly rounder toebox.

Just wondering where do you keep your shoes?

I keep mine at the balcony, though not directly under the sun but it is open air. Just began to notice my carminas start to fade to a much lighter brown than it was when I bought it.

Will polishing bring it back to its original darker color?

You won't get back the same shade of brown for sure. That's one of the beauties of leather. It will change shades and every piece will be different.

You can use cream to darken it or use a darker polish, depending on whether you prefer it to be more permanent or not.

Do keep in mind that uv rays, air, heat speed up oxidation.

If you would like to preserve the leather's colours do keep them in a cold, dark place, preferably a cupboard with a dehumidifier.

Thanks for this! Like you I have broad feet, and wear G width on my loake, and in general only wear round toes for the same reason.

What last do you wear on herring please?

I think some of Herring's shoes are using the same lasts as Loake? A search on Herring Shoes seem to indicate that it's a 026 which is identical (or almost identical) to my Barker in G.

Hope this helps.

Llyr runs quite narrow. I am EU 42 for their shoes. Usually i wear UK7.5 which is EU 41.5 for Carmina Rain last.

Actually seems like for Carmina's sizing chart, UK 7.5 is EU 41..
