So.... you're looking for a place that has the least possible number of models for you to choose from so that you don't buy too many pairs?

Gentlemen,
I'm happy you guys have been getting your shoe fixes of late.
Sorry to hijack the thead again, but I am proposing another GMTO for EB via Lusso.
This one's a little different.
The model is this:

350x700px-LL-62b98161_DSC_0022-500x333_zpsaut22qrg.jpeg

A balmoral derby wingtip.

We are using kangaroo leather for uppers. The hides are sourced from an Australian tannery.
Roo leather is known for having very high tensile strength (ie, it's very strong) but is usually a little thinner than regular calf. The tannery I've been talking to does have slightly thicker hides which I have chosen. I've chosen thicker hides as the thinner one will crease more.

The hides look like this:
unnamed_zpsicxz7gr6.jpg

The hides are veg tanned, and will actually eventually darken with time.

This is a picture of a completed Vass boot made in roo leather sourced from the same tannery. You can see the grain has a very subtle texture.

We already have 3 interests. And we just need one more to complete the GMTO.

If we do manage to put together a GMTO, I will arrange for the hides to be shipped from Australia to Italy.
Including shipping, I estimate the cost of the leather to be an extra $120 SGD or so.
There is a chance that since this is a GMTO, and that we will be supplying the leather, that the base price EB quotes us, will be lower. No promises yet, but I remain optimistic.

Anyone?

Gentleman, just giving this GMTO a little bump.
It should make for an interesting make up!

Speaking of kangaroo leather.. I am in the midst of coordinating with Vass to get a pair of chukkas done up for myself.. Drop me a PM if you are interested. No confirmation on pricing yet.. No minimal numbers for vass mto actually.

So to summarize the GMTO AIAD and I have in mind:

Model: Button shoe (not boots)

Design: Plain captoe balmoral style with plain stitching.

Sides will be like pic A below and not the straight across kind and there will not be broguing.

Color: Black calf for bottom, Loden suede for top. There will be a centre line where the lace will be as with all button boots but we will use the same suede material so there will not be a contrast there like what you see in pic B.

Sole: Preference for single sole with topy. If anyone has any thoughts, let me know.

Last: Likely the 946

Pic A:
MG_0882_1024x1024.jpg

Pic B:
MG_2435-1024x822.jpg

Pic B pretty much sums up the design of the shoe sans the contrasting centre line on the suede part and the seam that runs on the side of the shoe.

Anyone out that that is keen, let me know! :D

I'm planning to run it through Lusso if we get enough people on board.

Bumping this too! Look forward to taker(s)!

Junkard Company - US 11. I am usually US 10.5 / UK 9.5. Sizing was done by feet tracing scan (always good to have one of these ready).

Comparison with Carmina Polo Suede in Rain last - UK 9.5E.

Rest of the photos

Overall, good fit with standard socks, no glaring defects unlike *cough*m***min* good casual shoe :s22:

Now to check out their new shell arrivals...

Anyway, I made my order for the Enzo derby boots. And some shoe care products.

Wasn't tempted at all by the Carmina MTO deal a few days back but this was too much..

Would you or TM be able to give sizing advice for this pair of boots?

I'm not sure what my Detroit/Soller size is as suggested by Skoak

What I do know is I'm a Rain UK7.5, Simpson UK8 and Inca UK7

Thanks!

If comparing colour codes (sRGB)

Maroon : 128,0,0
Oxblood : 128, 0, 32
Burgundy : 144, 0, 32

I would say Oxblood is the closest match, provided your Maroon is indeed Maroon. I won't be surprised your Maroon turns out to be Burgundy.

Oxblood and Burgundy are standard (though not common) shoes colours.

Lol... this I way too technical.... haha...

Anyway I would think it would be a cheaper option to get the belt to match the shoe rather than the other way round, considering how much the shoes we talk about in this thread cost.

Thanks bros!

The belt happen to be "reversible" and thus thought about the shoe but don't seem to have readily available choices in retail :(

Unfortunately I haven't gotten them on my feet, I took a gamble too. Skoab advised me to take my normal size, but many people also size down. I went with normal size.

Will be able to give better input when I receive them in a few days, if you wanna risk waiting ;)

Good MTO deal?

Introducing the Porter Boot in Espresso Shell Cordovan. the Porter boot is the most beautiful boot we've ever made. Thanks, in part, to the stunning Shell Cordovan that the good folks at Horween Leather made for us. We took their natural, unglazed shell cordovan and dyed it by hand using specially formulated aniline dye.

Retail $750 Pre-sale $650

To save money on shipping a set of braces from Skoak, I bought a pair of Isham.

I think it makes financial sense to do so.:s13:
