Thanks!!! If thats the case.. Most likely wouldnt able to get from jfk already for the seconds and sample.. Can advise for meermin too? TIA :)

Sent from my travelling buddy using GAGT

I think you should email meermin or justin for sizing. Especially on certain model and lasts.
I find both Justin and Meermin respond to email relatively quickly on weekdays.

edetal de Nicoll? I have a black pair myself.

I managed to resole at solemann today. Take note that only the ORP outlet will be opened on Sat. $20 for the heel, $27 for the sole, 40mins. Quite ok I think, at least managed to extend the life of the shoes le.
I think you mean add sole protector? Resole is quite different and a bit more expensive than what you mentioned.

paiseh paiseh, i arent aware of the jargons. What they did was remove the heels which are wearing out, then replace the rubber vibram sole on. The sole I think they just put it on top of the original leather sole.
My initial intention was just to do the heels only, then the boss noticed that my tip of my shoes are wearing off too, so suggested adding a sole, so i thought why not. impt is the shoe can still continue to wear:p

I think you mean to topy, add a thin rubber to the existing sole.
To resole is to replace the whole sole.

Go to Robinson at orchard, there are some nice Maganni now going below $500. I tried one like Berluti but size not fit, very disappointed .

pwille, any comments on the fit comparison between the 363 last (the handgrade courtenay) vs the 348 last (the edgware you just bought)? TIA!

Not much difference to my noob feet...I would say maybe edgware is slightly wider... But the obvious difference is the leather used, hand grade is more supple, and I think more forgiving on the feet in terms of comfort.

You are certainly no noob if you are wearing C&J handgrades.

Just a point to add, for the price difference I suggest to go for handgrade. The nice leather is worth the money

Hi Polish Guru, may i know whats the diff between neutral wax vs coloured wax assuming i already cream the shoe with the colour matching polish?
Can i still acheive the mirror shine at cap toe using neutal wax or die die must use colour wax. Assuming using saphir product. Thks

I have the same question also... Because I afraid to use the wrong color so I bought the neutral from saphir.

Thanks for sharing! I agree with your comments having handled both the handgrade and benchgrade.. Only thing not sure if the 363 last would work for me. The 348 is just nice for me n 337 last was too narrow. I reckon 363 last is somewhere in between

You can achieve the mirror shine on the toe caps with both wax (neutral/coloured). But I've also discovered that utilising coloured wax took me lesser time (speedier) shining my shoes as compared to using neutral wax. Well, taking into account the age of the shoes as well. To each his own. I'm afraid using neutral wax may leave a white film (residue) on the leather as some had indicated here. All in all, wax application is to provide a layer of protection and shine.
