Saw llyr ytd...damn hard la the leather.
I realli dun fancy breaking in the shoe for few mth before it gets comfortable enuff. Its a torture for my feet

Try suede or combo suede/calf (suede at flex points of the shoes) or certain exotic skins (eg. lizard) can be soft.

Finding the right size will be tough without proper stores around with various widths and lengths. If you have the privilege to visit some proper stores in the states or uk, u might get a chance to try out various length + widths.

Otherwise, you have to try your luck.

Carmina at Capitol, Yanko at Lusso are some places you can try some midrange shoes. Do learn / remember the various Lasts used and their size. Not all feet fits the shoes the same, and not all types of shoes in the same last fits the same.

Once you find the perfect last/size+width, break-in time for shoes drops significantly, sometimes no breakin required even.

Looking for shoe trees

Hi guys, sorry to piggyback on this thread. I posted my own thread but nobody replied.

I am looking for pairs of cedar shoe trees. Gonna need them for my products for GSS season, so need good quality ones. Briefly, they have to be:

1) Raw cedarwood (no lotus/birch/ polished wood/coloured wood)
2) Twin tube and split toe
3) Preferably with some golden brand plate or knobs etc to enhance the look of my products.
4) Prefer to be able to try them before buying, so that I know they fit my product sizes.

Preferably below $50/pc with bulk order about 20pcs

Hi guys, just bought a pair of leather shoes from ecco that was on sale at 199, originally at 299.

Looked high and low, couldn't find the right shoe for my wide and flat feet for my cheap budget, originally looking at around 100+-. But the service from the sales assistant was very good, the shoe I tried are comfy too. So I just close one eye for the price and went for it.

Problem now is I don't know what should I do to care for it. Watched some videos, read a few pages of this thread. What I know is must brush, polish then wax? Should I get from ecco shop itself or those mentioned in this thread like Sapir?

Although the shoe is not from those higher end brands like Ed Et Al, is Ecco considered good too?

Llyr shoe sucks. I just started wearing it and the heel part giving me blisters.

Blisters as in not those normal blisters. It is the skin tear and blood come out kind

Ouch. Sometimes I've found good boots are easier to break in with their supple leather. Depends on whether they'll serve your purpose.

I just listed a new Allen Edmonds Cronmok boot for sale on Carousell. (9.5 3E)
I loved how comfortable they were right away, you could find similar ones am sure.

New Allen Edmonds on sale at Carousell

Hi guys, based on your advice, I just put up a couple of my new Allen Edmonds shoes on sale at Carousell, in case you're interested. Cronmok boots and Wingtip Oxfords, both US9.5 3E.

Unfortunately, I got my size wrong online and these are a half size too big. :(
I hope they find a good home!

Bit late but these two below are very good options. Suggest try Yanko first as more value

Carmina at Capitol, Yanko at Lusso are some places you can try some midrange shoes. Do learn / remember the various Lasts used and their size. Not all feet fits the shoes the same, and not all types of shoes in the same last fits the same.

Good is subjective. With your budget and requirements, just gotta make do. At least Ecco shoes are known for been comfy

What kind of shoe is it? Ecco makes alot of styles. No point polishing sneakers for eg. Other wise just use normal Kiwi and brush on army style.

Half size big is not too difficult to rectify. Have u tried putting in an insole or wearing thicker socks? Might help.

It's a plain toe Oxford shoe. http://www.amazon.com/ECCO-Countoured-Plain-Toe-Oxford/dp/B00IOMS4RC

I know Kiwi has black and brown shoe polish. Any polish that will have the shade of the shoe?

That looks like suede. Don't use kiwi wax, you need products for suede if you want to clean/protect.

Thanks, I have tried those. Too wide as well, so I would prefer selling them.
Needless to say, after that mishap, I have been learning a lot more about different lasts and sizes!

How much should one expect to pay for Carmina or Yanko?

How's the quality vs EEA?
