Looking for an executive leather shoe. Budget is below $100. Can't match the bros here. Any brand to recommend. It would be best to purchase from Singapore to do testing, as my size is very big and often wear and tear in less than a year.

TIA.

U can try Bata for your budget. Not trolling. Or u can try earnest collective slightly above your budget.

Imho, taking pride with your shoes by having some shoe care and keeping them clean is most important. Good luck!

Haha how come change of heart? Carmina-mania or skoakB's odd stock? :) say yes la. Then I'll try to find another one from styleforum. Anyway it's 50% downpayment and 5-6 months wait :)

I participated in a very similar GMTO couple weeks back, just don't have norvegese welt and rope laces

ok no worries. We are now at 3 interested and looking for the elusive 4th! Specs below:

I'm thinking of an Enzo Bonafe group made to order (gmto) from skoakB rather than lusso, due to leather availability. Any interest? So far there's 2 ppl, we can do a GMTO with 4.

Enzo Bonafe long wing (probably in a round last like 363mod as shown in the picture)
- in tan tarnsjo leather (top left)
- norvegese chain welt (top middle)
- rope laces with leather ends (top right)

Also, some kind of rubber sole. Leaning towards millerighe but ok with other types of leather sole. Any interest?

Price is 4960 SEK (which is about S$770 using xe.com rates now), upcharge due to norvegese welt.

My friends,

This is just a heads up and an invite. Since we are all shoe lovers.
Gerald (Vanda Fine Clothing) had recently dropped me an email.

You guys might have heard of the newly launched book: "Master Shoemakers: The Art and Soul of Bespoke Shoes."
Those who have been following SkoaB's stuff might have noticed they are doing pre-orders for it.

The author of the book, Gary Tok has been in contact with Vanda.... and VFC will be the only local stockist carrying the book.
Featured in the book are numerous bespoke artisans, eg Hidetaka Fukaya, Stefano Bemer, Anthony Delos and Roberto Ugolini to name a few.

Vanda will be holding a launch party at their place on the 26th November, and you guys are all invited. There will be whiskey, refreshments, and a chance to mingle. Gary will be there as well to join everyone.

And of course, there will be plenty of ties and pocket squares to look at.

There will be 2 editions of the book being sold.
- The standard edition at $187.25 (includes GST), and
- A Connoisseur's edition limited to 30 pcs at $278.20 (includes GST) that includes a gift box for the book, a special book sleeve, and a limited edition pocket square. Have attached a picture of the pocket square below:

If you guys are free, do drop by, and spread the word!

Long time no see.
Welcome back.
Are you in the UK?
How do you find Baker's "Russian ox hide leather?"
I hope it smells fantastic.
:)

Yea! In the highlands now, back in London again next week

Its an interesting leather for sure, very supple yet relatively thick. The hatch grain pattern is pretty much unique and gives the pair alot of character, unlike the typical uniformed embossing. Most importantly its at a pretty good price given brexit and vat refunds

Definitely has some sort of smell to it but not as strong as I hoped for, ala historical reports + Cuir de Russie lol

Thanks. If I'm not wrong these are also machine embossed right?
So are you getting it?
I remember dropping C&J an email some time ago. Will come to just above 1k SGD? Not too bad a price.

Indeed should be machine embossed if I understood correctly. Originals had their cross hatch pattern from been compressed with birch twigs

Yea got em, after discounts (minor mark on the toe) came down to £580. Then will be claiming further VAT rebates at the airport

Fits good man.. So glad I grabbed them, they're a goddamn steal.

Is it advisable to get my foot into the boot by pulling the shaft instead of using a shoe horn? Seems easier that way..

Me new to boots other than army

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 3 using GAGT

That's great. I'm glad you like them. They'll be perfect with jeans.
I don't use a shoe horn to wear boots. I just pull on the shaft to put them on. If the boots come with pull tabs then I use those.

Very good.
Do post pictures of them when you get back. I think it's an excellent make up.
Cheers man.
