I recently bought a Florence shoe from robinsons sales. Not sure what type of shoe construction is this. Can anyone advise please?

You should show the upper so that we can see whether there is a welt and the type of stitching on it otherwise I think this is a blake stitch or a variant of it.

See this post and just check yourself. Also check whether there is stitching on the insole, if so, confirm blake stitch.

I checked and I can't tell what construction it is. As per your description it should be Blake construction.

The leather they used is really good, very soft and more subtle.

Most of the time this toughness you feel is more from the fit and construction of the shoe - goodyear welted shoes feel more "stiff" and take a longer time to break in. However, I feel GYW shoes become very comfortable once it's broken-in.

The benefit of buying shoes with good leather is that they will literally last you a lifetime if you take care of it. Here's how my Edward Greens look after wearing it (at least once every 2 weeks) for 7 years now.

Very nice. Done any resole in the 7 years?

Anyone got recommendations on where to buy good quality horsehair applicator/polishing brush?
I tried looking at shopee, there are mostly those $1-2 which seems to suggest dubious quality
while at shoe boutiques they are selling above $20 which I think might be overpriced.
thanks!

Carmina should be better value.. but is v subjective on personal preference..

Yup, very hard decision to make as the carmina model i'm looking at is the 80201 in rain last and comes with their rubber sole which is good for local conditions. I'm also leaning more towards the carmina as their finishing are slightly better.

Shoetree Project has decent brushes a reasonable price: https://shoetreeproject.com/sg/product-category/shoe-care-accessories/

Abbeyhorn premium brushes @ A fine Pair of Shoes: https://www.afinepairofshoes.co.uk/...products/abbeyhorn-large-shoe-polishing-brush

I have both:s13:

At that price range you might want to look at CJ / Carlos handgrade as well to widen your options.

Yup, I was also considering TLB Artesia line as there's many good reviews on going for that too. However, cuz that week they were having some good promotions for both the carmina and cheaney that's why was considering them.

That being said, Carmina just started their winter sales today on their official web, bros here might want to take a look.
