Fwah. Recent posts are full of win. The brown to green especially, it's very apt! And I say this as a Singaporean who recently witnessed the winter-to-spring transition for the first time. It really brings out the feel of bare trees with budding leaves. Very, very nice!

Agreed! I think brown has more character than black!

Although my banking colleague made black shoes with red stitching at diamond walker to be a bit different from the rest of us... i still think it's damn boring to always wear the same colour.

I'm thinking to do dark brown shoes for casual fridays when I still have to see clients and still look professional.

Yup i did made fm DW last year. I chose dark brown shoes as i dont want too bright colors at tat time. Mine was a dual tone, black & brown, means u cant really tell from far, but now they dont have this kind of dual tone colors anymore. DW constantly changes their design so u wont have the same ting at any point in time, so watever u get should be rather unique. Brown shoes should be rather versatile can wear everyday & on most occasions. Great for lazy guys like me. Cheers.

The cream and brushes are cheaper by $2 at Diamond Walker.

I already got my shoes cleaned and polished up once by the friendly folks at Diamond Walker for free... now I have to DIY!

I agree that the green is great. It is really stunning in person.

However, I would hardly be able to wear it due to my personal tastes and social environments. I wanted a pair of shoes that will not stand out in your face but have a subtle twist when the light just happens to catch it. I got what I wanted.

Septime Largeur have great patinas, but I would not be able to get a pair of nicely patina'd goodyear welted derby boots for the same money. Nor would they patina a pair of Ed Et Al shoes for me.

Ed announced his patina service AFTER we sent the boots off to Italy, and if Ed has the same skill level, it was too late anway.

The whole reason why we did it was because the boots cost $100 to purchase in the first place.

All in all, the "trouble and time" was necessary for the same result, taking everything in consideration.

In any case, we're talking about filling out a form at DHL (the lady even packed it for us), making payment through Paypal and opening my door when the delivery man pressed the doorbell worth of "trouble and time".

Patina is always about personal preferences n glad u like urs. The $100 base price for the boots is something few can argue against will more than offset the premium for other aspects eg patina
