Hi all. Looking for a pair of half brogues that I can wear for mainly semi formal and casual wear. Getting half brogues because I would hope to use them for the occasional formal events if it fits the attire better. Any brand recommendation. Saw Allen Edmonds in this thread. Gorgeous collection but price beyond my budget.

Also, for those who are not interested in putting topy/vibram soles and prefers to have the raw feel instead of putting rubber over it :D

Been trying to find someone who would still do these for the past one year and found out last week that the cobbler in International Plaza has it for just $5 a pair.

$150-$200?

check out archules shoes. Classic designs at a good price which IMHO surpasses pedro, rad russell and the likes in and around that category.

I cannot comment on comfort, leather quality and durability but let's just say at that pricepoint, you will need to have realistic expectations.

Checked them out already. Full brogues look good, but their half brogues are a bit too plain for my liking. Loving the Allen Edmonds Strand Cap-toe oxford so looking for something similar.

Wow! Gpgt and give us a review? :)

Happy to oblige ! I bought a pair of Loafer 180 in Navy Calf, and the 300 Oxford in Black, both of which are pretty iconic models for the brand. Also got a belt in the same Navy Calf as my loafers, some OTC socks and some shoecare products. Really had to exercise some self-restraint as I was so tempted to get the 180 in burgundy, place an for a special edition, and THEN get the Demi-Chasse in brown.

The in-store experience was wonderful, service was excellent; they definitely have respect for customers who recognize the brand. The SAs are really professional and do the really smart thing of completely disregarding whatever shoe size you tell them you are, and measuring your feet themselves with a device(not a brannock, not sure what it is). The person attending to me went as far as removing my socks and putting on a pair of samples for me to try on; I was just sitting there having my espresso.

Some pictures of the 180 loafer in Navy Calf(I suck at taking pictures, sorry).

No pics of the 300 Oxfords but here's a photo by someone else : https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/...-lkdnDFObeKiN1T3hhDA4VjmKHxRTUASJp1zL2MRyAz-C

The shoe designs won't wow anyone, as they're pretty traditional, but the quality of the shoes are incredible. I believe JM Weston has their own tannery for their sole leather, and it really shows when you're wearing the shoes. An absolute joy to walk in.

EDIT: Linen shirt + seersucker trousers by Dylan & Son

Meermin

Hi all.

I just started building my business wardrobe and am looking to compilment it with some nice shoes. I will probably start with a classic black Oxford from Ed et al but I also want to buy a pair or two from Meermin. So I was wondering if somebody already has a pair, ideally from the Linea Maestro line, in size 10 or 10.5 so I could try if they fit me. I have already tried the Church consul and size 10F was quite a good fit.

Thanks guys.

Wow. But isn't that sale only for the US?

No! ppl here have call in bought it and get it shipped here. a few pages back has the instructions on how to buy stuff there. iirc SquallLH bought doing the below a few times

Well... I can load the shoebank site without issues.
Just use skype if you need to call up AE's shoebank and make the orders, must be prepared to hand over your CC details over the phone though. Would have recommended CGW for proxy forwarding but after getting fraud charges (same as many others on this forum) on my CCs from using their website, I would suggest look to borderlinx instead.

In your opinion, how many people do you think notice your nice shoes? Can they tell the difference between a typical $100 shoe and the shoes you wear?
