Talking about SAF boots, arcfire interested to work on patina project? Mine are the pre-gortex era leather boots. Only thing is I wonder if it's possible to strip off the black colour easily

Yeah, that would be interesting. Let me go check whether the black on the boots can be stripped off easily 1st.

Haha.. i generally do not find camouflage-inspired fashion to be attractive even where I can agree that such a design is aesthetically pleasing. Probably has to do with my sub-conscious to steer away from all things military in my 'civilian' life.

Not sure if other SG guys have similar thoughts.

Anyway if patina is possible, I would look at doing it in blue or rich burgundy. :D

Nice. Several questions:
1. Where are the shoes from?
2. What's the original colour of the shoes?
3. Who's the artist and any social media presence to share?
4. What's the cost?
5. Any advice on how to maintain the patina look thereafter? Assumption being conventional creme and wax polish routine might ruin/hide all the patina work.

The relationship of a last and a foot. :p

Would really want to experience wearing quality shoes made on a bespoke last sometime in my life! Imagine feeling the shoes fitting exactly like it's meant for u with no concept/need of breaking in.

I think they are from Diamond Walker, based on the broguing pattern.

1. Shoes are whole-cut oxfords from a Singapore company, but their shoes are made in Seoul. (not nice to advertise the brand here, don't wanna get banned :s13:)
2. Original color of the shoes are off-white.
3. The colorist used to work in Berluti, but no social media presence, kinda low profile.
4. A pair will cost about $600 including choice of your color. They do door-to-door consultation for new orders, so they will measure your feet and help you decide on the color as well.
5. It's coated with a layer of protective wax to protect against water. A routine polish will not ruin the patina color. Color can be changed or touched-up by the colorist.

Hope this answers your questions. This is the same pair before coloring.

Interesting... Care to PM details about this company?

When you say measurements, do they use rtw shoes to gauge your size or do they create a last based on your feet measurements? or do they modify their existing lasts based on your measurements?

Sole - Welted? What type?

Did they paint the laces as well?

Thanks for replying all my questions!

Are the shoes RTW or custom? I would imagine the patina could cost more than the shoes if RTW :s22:

On afraid to get ban, if the tuckshop and sundry threads within FG forum are well and alive, I don't think u should be concerned at all :)

PM if it's more convenient!

$600 is a reasonable deal, can PM me the contact ? If the quality is like Berluti is really tempting , I was at Berluti shop in Taka the other day I remember it cost about 2-3K per pair.
