Lucky me, I managed to get what I wanted except for the cognac Cityhall :(.

I was very, very satisfied with the quality that went into the shoe especially at that price point. Quality of leather has been upped substantially and the bevelled waist was a nice touch.

Probably gonna finish them up myself but very well played by Edwin :s13:

Kiton, were you the one who was there at 12 even though event only starts at 2pm? :p haha jus kidding.

What did you get?

Yes quality has gotten so much better as compared to the first generation toecap I have.

Being the Singaporean that I am, I was there since 6am! :s13::s13:

Just kidding. I actually reached there at 4pm. I got a black Outram and a Shenton. Tsk! Who needs a woman when you've got shoes?

I've the Outram in antique brown, captoe is a beast with a couple coats of blue saphir. I'd throw in some yellow too, if I had a tin..

My, my. Hope your antiquing goes well. Sounds good.

Didn't know so many of the folks here were there. We should have just met up for some whiskey and shoe tips sharing.

I'm thinking of getting ed et al's The Changi boot. What differentiates it from Clarks's or Cole Haan's offerings? I would really appreciate it if any more experience members share their thoughts.

Still very new to mens shoes. The above brands are already at the upper limit of my student's budget, lol.

Ed's changi boot is Goodyear welt, and therefore much more sturdy than the other 2

Hey guys, are the shoes still sold at the same price point? Did you guys get the first generation shoes at price drops or they're still at the same price? I'm really keen on the dark brown split toe. Did anyone caught sight of it? Did anyone also see the Rochor? Any comments?

The Somersets were gone in UK7.5 too when I got there at 4/5pm.....

Thanks for the info now its a hard choice between waiting & treating myself to a pair of Vass slippers@ EUR390/- inclusive of shipping & shoe trees.....

Congrats to those who managed to buy their Edetal shoes!

Went around 3pm plus but no more size 40 for the brown Outram and Rochor :(. Have to wait for next batch which will arrive before Christmas.

Shop was packed!

Vass @ EUR390 is price that I got quoted from Vass directly<info@vass-cipo.hu>
If you do order do tell me how does the Vass fits....... I've not ordered yet as I'm waiting for a cheap ticket to Tokyo to try them on there.

Would love to know as well on where you are able to source Vass at that price.

I think it's $300 per pair for this collection. I got my first generation Raffles at $250 back when it was first launched. No idea how much are they now.

Rochor in antique brown looks good. Sentosa II also. I may be biased though, as I prefer brown shoes.

The shoes are good value at this price point.

martinbz, how did you establish contact with Vass? The last time I checked, there seems to be no direct way to contact them. Website was bare and only listed their stores in US, Japan etc.

Agreed. Vass is very attractive but I can't bring myself to gamble on the fit.

What size are you on shoes?

Been contemplating buying a cheap 2nd hand Vass just to get the sizing down on the F-last but haven't found one in my size yet. :(

From my experience, topy before you wear. The cobbler will rough-out regardless to even out. So having a new uniform surface will means less to sand down.

For sole, I'll go for Vibram.

Ok, so I just got my Herrings delivered. Any recommendations for a cobbler to add the rubber sole?

Think I might also need to get a horse hair brush and some Renovator too!
