I see!

So you wear a US 7.5? And you have both the F and U lasts?

How's the width on the F last? I'm a US D width, what's your width? :)

Yes, I am typically a US 7.5D (UK 7E). My width is a little wide on the left foot and medium on the right, the F-last fits better. U-last is narrower, not by a lot as other suggest. The biggest problem I have with the U is the volume of the in-step (I have low arch). If you have JL 8000 last, it fits almost the same.

*Bay, where else :) There's a Italian seller (can't remember the name) that seems to have a fair bit of Vass.

An Italian seller of Vass shoes in Singapore?? Where?

So the instep of the F last is lesser than the U last?

How do you know you have low instep? Did you measure by a chart or something?

Saphir wax & cream polish

Hi All.

Glad to see many people interested in shoes as well. I recently ordered Saphir wax and cream polish for hangerproject.com and sent it to hopshopgo/comgateway to forward to me here in Singapore. Unfortunately, I just received an email from them that these products are marked as flammable and cannot be shipped to me. Instead, they are asking me if i want the items to be discarded or shipped back to the seller (for a fee, of course).

Has anyone had the same experience? If so, is there any way around it?

I recently ordered from afinepairofshoes and didn't encounter such issues. Hangerproject's prices are higher also.

Suggest you to buy from afinepairofshoes in the future.

Strange.. I have made over 4 orders on different occasions for Saphir from afinepairofshoes. Never encountered this before... Is it because they went to "tick" the flammable option? My package is usually just marked "shoe brushes" under the content. I think that makes it easier to clear customs

I dunno how to rectify that. But I bought mine from eBay. Not sure if it's cheaper though.

According to comGateway, the packaging of the wax and cream indicates that the product itself is flammable. comGateway/hopshopgo have the habit of opening packages to check the actual content :(

I guess I have no recourse but to get them to send it back and hopefully hangerproject accepts the return.

afinepairofshoes is out of black cream polish. Any of you guys know where I can get my hands on Renovateur, Black Wax and Black Cream locally?

Ed et al. They're the only one in Singapore that stocks Saphir.

Hey guys, i'll be ordering a pair of shoes from this French brand Septieme Larguer.

Boutique chaussure homme, chaussure homme cuir, vente chaussure homme, vente chaussure homme.

I'm looking for people to share the shipping cost. They are having sale now and the shoes are pretty cheap. Don't expect Vass or John Lobb's though for the price you're paying. Construction and style wise they're quite value for money especially for the pieces on sale. Leather wise probably on par with AE's. Definitely better than the other French brands like Markowski ( Same owner) or Bexley. Let me know if anyone's keen to share shipping.

Allen Edmonds Clifton

Hi All,

I recently bought a pair Allen Edmonds Cliftons, a Quarter Brogue Blucher, in black sized US9 3E. I find that it runs long and I would just be ruining the upper prematurely if I decide to use it.

Would any of you be interested in buying it? I think it would fit nicely for a US9.5 D/E. I have only worn the shoe in my room to try out the size. So it's practically new; the soles have not hit pavement yet.

Please PM me and we can work something out :)

Loake 1880 Islington or Ed Et Al Merlion?

The Loake from Plal cost only S$40 more than the Ed Et Al at $280, so I'm more concerned about the quality.

Those who has experienced both, how?

I admit I have neither.

But from what I read online, Loake doesn't wear too well over time. At least EEA has the benefit of the doubt since it's new. :s13:

For Ed Et Al, you get to try it out first. And apparently they use full-grain leather. Does 1880 use full-grain or corrected grain? Anyone care to comment?
