Those are too casual for interviews. Even if the workplace is not so strict about dress code, it is better to be more formal during the interview.

And make sure the shoes are clean and shined.

You can keep your existing shoe for rotation and wear during dress down Fridays.

On second thoughts most of the time no one really cares over here. The most popular CBD shoe is a slip on loafer ><

I think most interviewers in Singapore won't really bother about your shoes unless you wear something that is obviously not suitable for the office. Seen so many of them wearing loafers while interviewing a candidate as well.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll sleep on it and consider if I wanna spend another $300 on a new pair of shoes that I may not wear that often.

Already spent about a thousand bucks on a full set of outfit, just hope I can get to wear them more often..

As long as its work appropriate (leather, and shoe shaped (square is ok too)), no one would really care, I reckon. It's more important that you polished your shoe and didn't show up with dusty or dirty shoes.

But since you've spent $1000 on outfits, you're obviously committed to starting a career. Just drop the $300 on shoes and come here for shoe care tips on how to make your shoes last for 5 years (minimum)

Edit : People come for interviews in No. 3 shoes too. It's free-ish from the eMart.

While I agree with you totally, the interviewers already have a job while the interviewees are the ones seeking a job.

Yes all the nice clothes and shoes are useless if basic grooming is not there.

Please dun do the No. 3 shoes lah... Although the plain toe is a correct style of shoe to wear.

as a side note : Maybe not the newer No.3 shoes. I think the new No. 3 shoe is more athletic-styled? Like a sneaker with a leather upper only. Just saw it briefly when I was at Safra last weekend

I have a pair of tan / chestnut shoes from Barker, but the novelty has seriously worn off, and I'm thinking of making them into a light-medium brown pair..

Still weighing the pros and cons of going to a cobbler vs DIY with dye and deglazer.

You can buy the dye but its permanent change. Why don't you try do burnishing with wax polish, at least it can be removed if you ever change your mind.

I tried before using layering of polish. Black below, follow by brown and on top is neutral.

Tried quite a lot of pattern already, but ultimately where the shoe creases, the cream will crack (or fail to stay on), and the lighter leather shows through.

May take the plunge soon I guess, because I am slowly pushing it out of my rotation (even though its relatively new), due to the color.

why not sell the shoe or do a trade, then u save all the trouble.

Coming soon. Restoration project for 1990s Florsheim Imperial made in Italy. Not the vintage 5 nails v cleat though but the quality is miles higher than the current batch of made in India Florsheim with smooth grain leather.

i find that AE official web and Amazon's AE conversion charts are quite different.

eg.
AE US 7.5 is EU 41
AE Amazon US 7.5 is EU 39
