A bit chor considering their shoes starts from 250 EUR on their online shop?

250euro is raw shoe, 75euro additional for patina colors. Add in shipping etc, I think around SGD 500+ to SGD 600 approximately?

The Muji shoe trees are still available in all the big Muji shops (i.e. Ion, Bugis, Marina Square), only thing is it's 40++ now...

Have you tried out all the 3 pairs? Personally, I'm more inclined towards listening to my feet. Some lasts will fit better for different individuals. If its not something that is comfortable, the likelyhood of you wearing it often may not be that high and the shoe would go to waste. Some shoes look nice on display but look weird when you wear it as well.

I assume you've experienced wearing shoes with leather soles as well? Its an entirely different feel compared to rubber soles and you have to try it out to understand.

After you try them on, I'm pretty sure one or more will stand out more to you. For me, I have to like the shoe enough(in the sense that its comfortable, looks alright on my feet) that I can overlook any shortcomings that it may have before I would consider buying.

I'm not a big fan of Loake, not my cup of tea in terms of designs so I can't comment much. If I had a gun pointed at my head to choose, I would go with Church. I don't think price is a major factor here if you are willing to consider it. If you like it, you like it. Price becomes secondary.

thanks for the reply! to be honest i dont think ill get a chance to try them out and will probably be getting them from herrings. ive had full leather soles before so im comfortable with that

if there is a vast difference in quality i might go for the churchs but at 3 different (but close enough price points) i want to see which is most value. some people say the city line isnt that good, and if that is the case, maybe it would be better to stick with either the 1880 or the churchs custom line avoiding the city?

For that kind of cash, check out Alfred sargent exclusive at afinepairofshoes (think they take 20% off for vat), Crockett and Jones, or meermin. Pediwear is a pretty reliable stockist of Crockett and Jones. Imho, the brands I listed offer better value than church's. Also more tried and tested.

They're up in arms over the fact that church's was bought over by prada that they felt was producing fashion designs at substandard quality, and this ruined an esteemed English shoe brand.

I checked out amazon and was blown away by the different type of shoe trees. Any helpers to recommend a particular model or what sort of shoe tree should I look out for?

That aside, would you all recommend me getting shoe trees for my Bally and ferragamo shoes which are already at least 2 years old?

Lastly, the shoe trees I'm getting for my diamond walkers are for a pair of oxfords and double monks.

Depends on what brand etc. Logically, yes, because you don't have laces to secure them tightly. However, last shape etc makes a difference.

Bear in mind that if you have shoes that are 1/2 size larger, you can wear them. Not when they're too small.
