Yeah my laces also look quite worn out. I plan to get from ebay when needed. Have seen suitable 150cm waxed dress laces for $5-6 before.

The laces at edetal are not great. Cost $10 a pair but there are cheaper ones elsewhere.

Wondering what this will translate to in meermin sizing - UK 5.5 perhaps?

Anyone know the difference between meermin's 'olfe' and 'hiro' lasts?

For wide feet, think hv to go with hiro. Other meermin lasts mostly quite sleek. U can see an earlier post from ytd w pics comparing hiro vs capital last fr loake. Personally pref capital

I wear a uk5.5 loake in capital last. here are my measurement for comparison.

feet length 243mm
ball width 98mm
ball girth 232mm

Tried on a pair of Loake's 1880 wingtip at Robinsons today in size UK7F and UK8F. UK8F is very loose for me and UK7F is slightly tight. Wanted to try UK7.5F but Robinsons doesn't have them in half sizes.

So the question is which size should I go for on a Meermin Olfe last. Was thinking a UK7.5 but I'm afraid it'll be loose for me. Now I'm undecided between a UK7 and UK7.5.

can black leather shoes have slow patina built up?

Why not? The vamp creases and parts you don't wax and the part you do will age differently depending on how you care for them.

There is a difference between using dyes to enhance the patina effect and painting a new finishing layer that looks like patina effect.

If only works if your army boots are full grain leather. Otherwise Pledge is also useful to give the Armg pvc boots and patent shoes a quick shine.

Can't appreciate haha, guess it's different strokes for different folks

Which last was the loake u tried based on? The loake capital last n meermin hiro last are quite similar. Olfe last more narrow. See the last few pgs discussion
